The judges for this bout are Robert Twigg, Gwen Towbar and Wesley Smith.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Davidson on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Connolly. Connolly obviously looking to wear him down.
Connolly throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Connolly has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.
It looks like Patrick Connolly has been cut.
Davidson scores with a takedown into Connolly's guard.
Davidson trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Davidson prevents Connolly from getting back to his feet.
Davidson is pushing down on Connolly's leg trying to pass to half guard. Connolly is fighting to maintain full guard but Davidson has managed to sneak the leg through.
Davidson is trying to control the action in half guard but Connolly is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
Davidson wants to work for an arm triangle but Connolly is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Davidson is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Connolly doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Davidson.
Davidson with the ground and pound but Connolly uses the opportunity to regain guard.

Davidson drops back, looking for a kneebar! Connolly looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Connolly looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Connolly!

Connolly avoids the strikes from the bottom by Davidson.
Connolly lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Davidson down.
The strikes coming from Connolly are missing the target in this wave of attacks.

It looks like Connolly is going to stand back up.
Connolly is breathing heavily.
Davidson moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Connolly avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Davidson has control of Connolly's left arm, preventing Connolly from doing any damage.
Davidson wants to sweep here but Connolly controlling him for the moment.
Davidson is trying to keep Connolly in close.

Connolly wants to stand and escape but instead Davidson has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.

Connolly might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Davidson looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet.
