Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Soyoto Kawanoki (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Petteri Ojanen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Petteri Ojanen struggled to make weight for this fight. He only made it down to 146.1lbs at the first attempt and had to take the additional two hours to make the official bout weight. Let's see how much it's taken out of him. Petteri Ojanen has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Soyoto Kawanoki! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Petteri Ojanen! The judges for this bout are Wesley Smith, Chris Downing and Stewart Dunkirk.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Kawanoki closes the distance and clinches up with Ojanen, looking for a takedown. Kawanoki pushes Ojanen against the cage but Ojanen circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Kawanoki misses with a takedown attempt - Ojanen sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. Kawanoki closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Kawanoki lands in his opponent's guard. Kawanoki has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. Ojanen looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Kawanoki wants to control from the top but Ojanen keeps moving. Kawanoki in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. Kawanoki trying to control the position from guard on top but Ojanen is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Kawanoki preventing the sweep. That's one minute gone in the round. Ojanen looking to hit a scissor sweep but Kawanoki is one step ahead there. Kawanoki is stalling in the full guard. Kawanoki tries to free his leg and advance position but Ojanen is retaining full guard. Kawanoki wants to control from the top but Ojanen keeps moving. Kawanoki sitting in guard here, content to control.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Ojanen keeping moving, preventing Kawanoki from controlling successfully. Ojanen had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Kawanoki is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Ojanen Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Kawanoki's back instead. Kawanoki could do with loosing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely. The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Kawanoki is trying to escape under a series of strikes and manages to escape from Ojanen 's hooks. Kawanoki is trying desperately to improve position. Kawanoki wants to hold on but Ojanen pushes him away.

The referee stands the fighters back up. Soyoto Kawanoki just wasn't active enough from the dominant position. Excellent takedown into side control there by Kawanoki. Kawanoki knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Ojanen on the ground. Ojanen is trying to improve his position. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Kawanoki looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything. Ojanen is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard. Kawanoki is looking for the mount but instead finds himself back in full guard. Kawanoki might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Ojanen looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Kawanoki wants to control from the top but Ojanen keeps moving. Ojanen lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Kawanoki! Kawanoki tries to hold on but Ojanen pushes him away. Kawanoki tries to get back to half guard but can't. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Soyoto Kawanoki will probably get the nod. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!
Horrible takedown by Kawanoki or perhaps it was just good defense by Ojanen which made him look bad. Ojanen throws a series of punches but Kawanoki moves out of range. Kawanoki shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Ojanen as he avoids it easily. Kawanoki closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Ojanen to the mat! Ojanen manages to get full guard. Ojanen has his foot on Kawanoki's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Kawanoki works his way back into a safe position though. Kawanoki preventing the sweep. Ojanen is looking for a triangle but Kawanoki pushes his legs off easily.
Kawanoki trying to control the position from guard on top but Ojanen is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Kawanoki is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Ojanen is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Kawanoki trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Kawanoki stops Ojanen from standing up. Kawanoki wants to stand but Ojanen has a closed guard, so he can't escape. Kawanoki trying to control but Ojanen is working from the bottom. Ojanen tries to land a sweep but no joy. Kawanoki is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Ojanen is trying to keep Kawanoki in close.
Ojanen manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Kawanoki manages to get himself to full guard.
Kawanoki keeping moving, preventing Ojanen from controlling successfully. Ojanen stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Kawanoki swivels though and keeps the full guard. Kawanoki looking to control but Ojanen passes into half guard.
The referee calls for the fighters to work.

Kawanoki tries to roll over but Ojanen keeps him under control. Ojanen is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Kawanoki! Kawanoki reaches up to try and control the position but Ojanen seems to have an arm triangle now! Uh oh! Kawanoki rolls and tries to escape and now Ojanen has his back!
Kawanoki is trapped and Ojanen is scoring with shots to the head and body. Ojanen is working for the rear naked choke. He has one arm under the chin but Kawanoki has hold of the other arm. A bit of a stalemate here. Ojanen avoiding Kawanoki 's attempts to control his hands.

Petteri Ojanen showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!

That's one minute gone in the round. Kawanoki is looking to control Ojanen's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Kawanoki avoid being mounted? Ojanen is looking to take a break and control but Kawanoki is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Kawanoki trying to keep hold of his opponent's head but Ojanen manages to pass to mount!

That's two minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Ojanen is remaining active here, looking for the choke. The more discerning members of the crowd will appreciate his efforts.

And that's the end of the fight! Petteri Ojanen comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Ojanen has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
