Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Sean Sutton (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ryan Babaloo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Sean Sutton!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Ryan Babaloo!
The judges for this bout are George Francis, Cecil Peabody and Tiny Johnson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Babaloo tries to clinch up but Sutton circles away and keeps his distance.

Babaloo moves into range and clinches up with Sutton.
Babaloo wants to get back to striking at distance but Sutton won't allow it.
Sutton is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Babaloo pulls him back up using the underhooks.
Sutton jumps guard but Babaloo stands there with Sutton around his waist. Sutton gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Sutton tries to work over Babaloo's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target.

That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Sean Sutton. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Sutton is trying to drag Babaloo to the mat but Babaloo just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.

Babaloo has had enough of the clinch but Sutton keeps him there for the moment.
Sutton tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Babaloo smiles and moves away.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Babaloo lands a jab followed by a vicious hook that sends Sutton sprawling to the canvas. Babaloo follows him down, looking for the kill. Can Sutton hang on?

Sutton is trying to maintain the position but Babaloo is very close to passing his half guard.
Sutton seems to have got his legs back now.
Sutton might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Sutton misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Sutton tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Babaloo paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Sutton will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Babaloo is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Babaloo throws a nice looking combination but Sutton bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.

Sutton is breathing heavily.
Babaloo will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Sutton tries to score a body lock takedown but Babaloo shows good agility there to stay on his feet.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Babaloo has had enough of the clinch but Sutton keeps him there for the moment.
Babaloo lands a body shot.
Sutton wants a takedown but no success here.
Sutton tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Babaloo wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Sutton has him pressed against the cage.
Sutton jumps guard but Babaloo stands there with Sutton around his waist. Sutton gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

Babaloo gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Sutton.

Babaloo lands with a short head shot on the inside.
Sutton jumps guard but Babaloo stands there with Sutton around his waist. Sutton gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Babaloo lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent.
Babaloo's corner calls for a 1,2 combination and Babaloo duly obliges.
Sutton doesn't succeed with the takedown

and Babaloo counters with a single leg into guard. Sutton didn't expect that.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Babaloo slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
Sutton is trying to control the position but Babaloo postures up.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Babaloo stays in close to Sutton's body and controls the position.

Babaloo avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

Sutton working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Babaloo doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Babaloo manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

The referee calls for the fighters to work.

Sutton makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Sutton.

Sutton is active off his back here, looking for submissions.

Sutton has his foot on Babaloo's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Babaloo works his way back into a safe position though.
Sutton controls Babaloo momentarily but Babaloo frees himself.
Babaloo is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
Babaloo would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Babaloo slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
Sutton is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
Sutton seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Babaloo does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
Babaloo is trying to maintain the position but Sutton is very close to passing his half guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Ryan Babaloo showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Sutton is trying to keep Babaloo in close.

Sutton has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Babaloo can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fight is doing enough on the ground.

Well Babaloo has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
