Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Dawid Rafal (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and David Taylor (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 11 - 4 - 0, fighting out of New York, Dawid Rafal!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 10 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, David Taylor !
The judges for this bout are Wesley Smith, Gwen Towbar and Alan Glass.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Taylor misses with an uppercut. Rafal saw that one coming.
Rafal keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Taylor scores with a hook to the body. Rafal takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.
A nice inside leg kick there by Rafal. That's going to slow Taylor down.
Taylor blocks a head kick by Rafal.
Rafal throws a leg kick but Taylor sees it coming and moves out of range.
Taylor lands with a right hand.
Rafal throws out a token jab with nothing on it.

Taylor shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Taylor showed some decent athleticism there.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
Taylor throws a strike but Rafal avoids it easily and moves to full guard.

Taylor wants to free his trapped foot but Rafal is holding on for dear life with his legs.
Rafal is looking for a sweep. Taylor is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Taylor tries to pass the half guard into mount. Rafal knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
Taylor is looking for the mount but instead finds himself back in full guard.
Taylor throws a strike but Rafal rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Dawid Rafal.

Taylor moves out of range as Rafal throws a body kick.
Rafal throws a leg kick which misses Taylor 's front leg but catches the back leg as Taylor tries to avoid it.
Taylor throws a hard body shot but it just misses.

Taylor closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Rafal tries to kick Taylor off but Taylor keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
Taylor is looking to pass Rafal's guard but actually Rafal recovers to full guard.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Rafal ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Taylor moves away.
Taylor bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Rafal's head backwards.
Dawid Rafal seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Rafal throws a big shot that misses.

Rafal takes one on the chin but keeps coming.

Rafal displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Taylor .

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Rafal connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.
Rafal doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.

No joy there for Rafal, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

Rafal takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.
Good leg kick by Rafal there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.
Taylor has been working his punching technique in the buildup to the fight and it appears to be paying off.

Taylor 's leg has a nasty welt from taking a succession of leg kicks. That must be slowing him down.
Rafal throws a sloppy head kick and Taylor moves out of range easily.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Taylor seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Rafal does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Taylor is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Rafal!

I would just about give that final round to David Taylor .
I think Taylor has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
