Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Ivan Vasilyevich (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Raimundo Sobral (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Vasilyevich kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Billy Connolly - Ivan the terrible. The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Sobral throws a leg kick and Vasilyevich counters with a nice body kick.
Sobral connects with a crisp jab. Vasilyevich looks to land a right hand but Sobral moved out of range. Sobral looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard. If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup. Sobral looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Vasilyevich walks away with a smile on his face. Sobral gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head. Sobral shoots in for a takedown but Vasilyevich shows good takedown defense. Ivan Vasilyevich has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Raimundo Sobral. Sobral fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Vasilyevich has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage. Vasilyevich shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Sobral eats them both and turns towards Vasilyevich to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Vasilyevich tries to sprawl but Sobral drives through with a takedown into half guard. Vasilyevich is doing well to avoid being mounted. He's controlling the position at the moment. Vasilyevich is looking for a sweep. Sobral is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Vasilyevich pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Sobral fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Vasilyevich looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath. Sobral misses with a kick to the body.

That's one minute gone in the round. Vasilyevich drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles. Sobral fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Vasilyevich. Sobral takes a push kick to the midsection and stumbles backwards. Sobral throws a leg kick but Vasilyevich sees it coming and checks it nicely. Sobral looks to land a right hand but Vasilyevich moved out of range. Vasilyevich looks to score with a jab to the body but Sobral is just out of range. Sobral fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Vasilyevich avoids it really well and circles away. Sobral lands with a slapping head kick. Sobral takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Sobral misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Vasilyevich crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Sobral - the referee stops the clock and Vasilyevich gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Sobral. Vasilyevich manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Vasilyevich fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Sobral has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage. Vasilyevich looks to land a body kick but Sobral moved away. Ivan Vasilyevich has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
