Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Kyle Rigs (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Anderson Silva (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Anderson Silva told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 1, fighting out of Montreal, Kyle Rigs! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Anderson Silva! The judges for this bout are Alec Ball, Steve Smith and Yves DeLean.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Silva shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Rigs's guard. Rigs wants to get back to his feet but Silva is in a dominant position and won't allow it. Rigs can't keep his opponent in guard - Silva advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount. Silva takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position. Rigs is looking to escape. Silva wants to pass to mount but Rigs is defending the position. Silva escapes and gets back to his feet. Silva closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Silva lands in his opponent's guard. Rigs avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
That's one minute gone in the round. Silva gets to his feet - Rigs follows without any prompting. Silva keeps the fight on the outside. Rigs tries to clinch up but Silva circles away and keeps his distance. Silva takes the fight into the clinch. Rigs misses with an elbow over the top. Rigs is trying to break the clinch but Silva has him pressed against the cage. Silva tries for a takedown. No joy.
Silva prevents Rigs from breaking the clinch. Silva breaks from the clinch.
Silva closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth. Silva looks gassed! Rigs is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Silva asserts his dominance and retains side control.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Silva trying to control the position but Rigs is working away. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Rigs prevents Silva from improving position. Rigs is pushing Silva's head away, looking to escape. Silva manages to hold on to the position though.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Silva taking a breather here. Rigs is not content to let Silva control the position.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Silva drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Rigs is trying to buck Silva off. Rigs gives up the full mount - oops, sloppy defensive grappling there! Silva sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Anderson Silva dominated that round. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.
Silva moves in looking to clinch but Rigs pushes him off. Rigs misses with a two punch combination.
Rigs darts in trying to clinch and Silva counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Rigs's guard now. Silva stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Rigs swivels though and keeps the full guard. Silva is breathing heavily. Silva missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Rigs is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Silva is controlling him. Silva throwing strikes from guard but Rigs blocks nicely. Silva throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Rigs works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Rigs looking for a sweep. Not yet Rigs, not yet. Silva slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Rigs thows a body shot but no joy.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Silva looks to score with a jab to the body but Rigs is just out of range. Rigs is looking to clinch but Silva is avoiding it.
Rigs swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Rigs misses with an uppercut. Silva saw that one coming. Silva is looking to land body kicks. Silva dodges the punch combination from Rigs.
Silva closes this distance looking for a takedown but Rigs circles away. Rigs moves in looking to clinch but Silva pushes him off. Rigs wants to clinch up but Silva keeps it at a distance. Rigs lands with a thumping leg kick.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Rigs throws a sloppy head kick and Silva counters into the clinch. Nicely done. Silva is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though. Rigs tries to break the clinch but Silva is controlling the position. Rigs tries to land knees in the clinch but Silva avoids the damage to the body. Silva has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed Rigs clear over his head and slammed him to the mat! Rigs covering up well under a series of strikes from Silva. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Silva thows a huge left but connects with the canvas and not his opponent. Rigs knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Silva on the ground. Silva controls the position. Silva has his hand under the chin of his opponent looking for the choke. He's nearly got it! This one could be all over! But no, Rigs has freed his hand and lives to survive another… well, another couple of seconds at least!
That's four minutes gone in the round. Rigs wants to get back to his feet. A bit of a pause in the action here. Silva controlling the positon. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Anderson Silva showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!
Rigs tries to close the distance and clinch but Silva swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Silva swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Rigs counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Rigs. Silva taking a breather. Rigs controlling the action here for a moment.
Rigs breaks from the clinch.
Rigs tries to clinch up and Silva counters with a big head kick but Rigs shrugs it off. Both fighters are breathing heavily. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Rigs fails to land with a series of punches.
Rigs throws a series of punches but Silva avoids them all with ease. Rigs misses with a few strikes there.
Rigs has taken the fight to the clinch.
That's one minute gone in the round. Silva fails to pull guard.
Silva breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Rigs closes the distance but Silva moves to the side and Silva counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground. Rigs is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Silva is controlling him. Silva is pushing down on Rigs's leg trying to pass to half guard. Rigs is fighting to maintain full guard but Silva has managed to sneak the leg through. Silva moves into full mount! Rigs won't be happy about that! Silva sends his fist crashing into the mat - the crowd let out a collective ooooooh. Let's hope he's not broken it!
That's two minutes gone in the round. Silva is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Rigs can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.
Rigs is trying to get to the cage to help him get back to his feet.
Silva is standing up, even though he is in mount. Rigs has Silva up against the cage in a clinch.
Silva tries to land knees in the clinch but Rigs avoids the damage to the body. Silva turns his hips and lands a very nice judo throw into side control!
That's three minutes gone in the round. Rigs defending against the ground and pound. Silva working the ground and pound but Rigs is defending the strikes. Silva decides to stand up, so the ref orders Rigs to his feet. Rigs gets caught flat footed, as Silva shoots in with a quick takedown into guard. Silva stays in close to Rigs's body and controls the position. Silva stands up from Rigs's guard - Silva perhaps looking for a knockout.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Rigs goes for a spinning back kick but it misses. Kyle Rigs has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Silva looks for a takedown but Rigs sprawls well. Rigs tries to clinch and Silva counters with a shoot takedown into half guard. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Silva slows the pace down in half guard. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Rigs blocking the ground and pound attempt from Silva.
And that's the end of the fight! Anderson Silva comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I've got Silva winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
