1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Ryan Ortiz! The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, Tiny Johnson and Robert Twigg.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Hale misses with a low kick.
Hale shoots in for a double leg but Ortiz sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. Hale doesn't succeed with the takedown enabling Ortiz to counter with a crisp jab. Hale tries for a takedown but Ortiz circles away easily and Ortiz cracks him with a counter punch right on the button. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Patrick Hale. That's going to take a lot out of him. Ortiz gets a double leg takedown into Hale's guard. Ortiz makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.
