Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jake Barbossa (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kai Urutaka (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Barbossa's entrance music is Intergalactic by The Beastie Boys. A fine choice. Kai Urutaka told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

The judges for this bout are Micheangelo Fripello, Jeff Smith and Josh West.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Barbossa missing with a left hand there. Urutaka was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Urutaka misses with a head kick.
Some wild striking there from Urutaka.
Kai Urutaka seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Barbossa shoots in looking for a takedown. Urutaka tries to sprawl out of it but Barbossa keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Urutaka manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Urutaka throws a body kick that misses.
Urutaka throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
letting Barbossa counter with a right hand.
Barbossa throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Barbossa seems to be moving with more speed, compared to his last bout. He must have been working on that in the gym.

It looks like Jake Barbossa has been cut.
Urutaka's corner calls for a 1, 2 combination and Urutaka duly obliges.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Urutaka lands three nice shots there - that looked like it hurt!
Urutaka scores with a hook to the body. Barbossa takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.

A telegraphed takedown attempt from Barbossa is defended easily by Urutaka.
Barbossa throws a hook but Urutaka blocks it.
Urutaka tries to clinch but Barbossa moves out of range.
Oooooh!!! Urutaka has knocked Barbossa down with a huge combo! Urutaka steps away and waves a wobbly Barbossa back to his feet! This one might not go much longer!

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

No joy there for Urutaka, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Urutaka wants to clinch up but Barbossa keeps it at a distance.
Urutaka rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Barbossa moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
A head kick misses from Urutaka.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
Urutaka defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Barbossa.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jake Barbossa. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Barbossa rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Urutaka counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Urutaka connects with a combination that backs up Barbossa into the cage. Urutaka lands a flurry of punches that gets past Barbossa's guard. Barbossa is down and the referee has seen enough. It is all over! Urutaka bursts into tears - this win obviously means a huge amount to him.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:17 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Kai Urutaka!
