Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Alexio Silva (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Marcus Garvey (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Silva comes to the cage accompanied by A Country Boy Can Survive. Garvey has chosen One Loaf of Bread -- Damian Marley as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. The fight MMA fans around the world have waited their entire lives for!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Silva shoots in for a takedown but Garvey shows good takedown defense.
Silva misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Garvey takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.

We've been informed that Garvey has been sparring a lot of Muay Thai in the buildup to this fight so let's see if that has an impact on the result.

and Garvey counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.

Alexio Silva overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

We've been hearing good reports from Silva's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.
