The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Williams displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Rodriguez.
Rodriguez shoots in but Williams avoids the takedown attempt easily.

Williams closes the distance and clinches.

Williams has Rodriguez pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Williams pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Rodriguez tumbling to the mat - Williams dives into Rodriguez's guard.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.

Rodriguez is actively looking for submissions from his back. He's worked himself a little space on the bottom and seems to be going for a triangle. No, he's switched into an armbar! That was slick! Williams rolls with it to try and escape but Rodriguez cranks on the arm and Williams is forced to tap out! This one is aaaaaaaaall over!
