Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Quasim Quasar (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Joe Wong (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Joe Wong is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Quasim Quasar! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 5 - 0, fighting out of New York, Joe Wong! The judges for this bout are Alyssa Summers, Reed Andrews and Steve Montenegro.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Quasar shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Wong defends it nicely. Wong looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight! Wong shoots in and bounces Quasar off the cage to secure the takedown into guard. Quasar working for a triangle but Wong defends it easily.

Quasar wants to hit a switch here but Wong passes into full mount! Oh no, disaster for Quasar there! Quasar can't escape the position.
That's one minute gone in the round. Wong throwing shots from mount but they're not landing. Wong has hold of Quasar's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Quasar manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
Wong manages to capitalize on a mistake by Quasar to take his back! Wong working for the choke. So, who will make the next big move? In this position it could be crucial.

Quasar is trying to get back to his feet but Wong has full control of the position and if anything, Quasar has just worked his way into a worse spot. Quasar can't escape the position.
Quasar knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Wong on the ground. Quasar is staying cool under pressure, defending well against the rear naked choke attempt from his opponent.
I really don't envy Quasar right now.

That's one minute gone in the round. Quasar jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Wong walks away with a smile on his face. Quasar gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Quasim Quasar. That's going to take a lot out of him. Quasar tries to clinch up. Wong fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Quasar, pushing him back against the cage. Quasar tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Wong just stands there and leans against the cage. Wong turns his hips and lands a very nice judo throw into side control! The referee tells the fighters to keep busy. Wong misses with an attempted head punch from side control. Wong advances to mount. Wong misses with a series of strikes from mount. He'll no doubt be working on his ground and pound when he gets back to the gym.

The step up in weight doesn't seem to be a problem for Wong. He's performing admirably here against the bigger man. Wong thowing shots but they're missing. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Wong throwing sloppy strikes, which aren't doing any damage.

Wong is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Quasar can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.

Joe Wong showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!

Quasar tries to clinch but Wong is having none of it. Quasar shoots in looking for a takedown but Wong manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Quasar's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away. Wong fails with a takedown attempt from distance. Wong fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. Quasar tries to clinch but Wong moves out of range. Quasar fails in his attempt to clinch. Quasar is looking to clinch. Quasar shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Wong as he avoids it easily.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Quasar shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Wong as he jumps to the side. Wong shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Quasar defends it nicely. Wong shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat. Quasar working a defensive guard but Wong passes into half guard.
Wong keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action. Wong throwing shots but Quasar is blocking nicely. Wong is figuring out what he wants to do next.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Wong throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Wong seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense. Quasar is trying to maintain the position but Wong is very close to passing his half guard.
The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Joe Wong. Wong moves into the clinch. Quasim Quasar has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Joe Wong is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Wong gets control of Quasar's arms and successfully pulls guard. Wong will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.
And that's the end of the fight! Joe Wong comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I've got Wong winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
