The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Hamps fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Santana sprawls well initially but Hamps persists and gets the takedown into half guard. We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake. The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up. Hamps is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound. Santana pushes Hamps off but Hamps dives into side control.
Hamps is working Santana over with some ground and pound from side control. Hamps controlling the position from side mount. Hamps is working for what looks like an arm triangle here. Santana is trying to escape and Hamps transitions quickly into an armbar! He's slapped it on tight and Santana is forced to tap! Nice work there by Hamps! Very nice indeed!
