Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Bradley Johnson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Diego Brandao (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Johnson kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Can't Hold Us. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
8 - 4 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Bradley Johnson! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
12 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Diego Brandao! The judges for this bout are Illya Tyunina, Viktor Lagutenko and Aleksei Zolotukhin.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Ouch! a nice leg kick from Johnson, right into the meat.
Brandao misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. Brandao looks for a takedown but Johnson sprawls well. Brandao takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh. Johnson scores with a hook to the body. Brandao takes a step back and tries to catch his breath. Johnson cracks the inside of Brandao's front leg. Johnson has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance. Johnson scoring well with a low kick there.
Johnson tries to bum rush Brandao with a series of wild strikes but Brandao uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Brandao keeping at a good range here, avoiding a leg kick.
Johnson misses with a lunging right hand
and Brandao counters with a single leg into guard. Johnson didn't expect that. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Brandao throws a big elbow that misses. Brandao has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Johnson is trying to control the position but Brandao postures up. Johnson is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
That's one minute gone in the round. Brandao is staying active underneath Johnson, who seems content to just control the action from this position. Johnson looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding. Johnson is thwarting Brandao's attempts to control the position. Brandao gets back to full guard.
Johnson stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Brandao swivels though and keeps the full guard. Brandao throws some sloppy strikes off his back.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Brandao can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Johnson controls the pace. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Bradley Johnson has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet. A punch lands to the side of Brandao 's head but he takes it in his stride. Johnson slaps away a takedown attempt from Brandao, before circling back to the center of the mat. Bradley Johnson has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Diego Brandao. Brandao on the wrong end of a nice hook. Johnson lands a jab to the head.
Johnson stuffs the takedown. Johnson lands a nice shot that snaps Brandao's head back.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Johnson works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance. Johnson attempts a leg kick but it's missed by a good margin. Johnson throws a wild combination but nothing lands. Brandao doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body. Brandao changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Johnson looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Johnson taking a bit of punishment here - Brandao scoring with strikes. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Johnson struggling a bit here. Brandao lands a knee to the body and a forearm to the face. Brandao landing a few strikes. Check out the look on Brandao's face as he threw that strike - that's one determined fighter!
Johnson dodges the ground and pound from Brandao. You can see the frustration on Johnson's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. Brandao trying to control the position but Johnson is working away. Brandao creates a bit of distance and throws down some hard shots. Brandao working the ground and pound but he's contacting the mat, not the fighter.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Johnson wants to escape from the position here - easier said than done! We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Brandao takes a little break here. Johnson wants to take advantage but he is being controlled well. Brandao postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.
Johnson tries to buck Brandao off but Brandao is having none of it. Johnson manages to work his way to half guard, despite Brandao's best efforts. Brandao working the head and body with strikes. Brandao lands with a punch from half guard. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Johnson is trying to stand back up but Brandao is controlling him
Ground and pound from Brandao. Johnson is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Brandao pulls his head out easily. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close round but Diego Brandao will probably get the nod. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.
Johnson lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise. Brandao uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Johnson.
Brandao avoids a punch combination nicely.
Brandao takes one on the button. Johnson walks forward and throws out a flicking leg kick. Brandao checks it nicely though, as he moves to the side. Johnson scores with a leg kick.
Johnson fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Brandao has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage. Johnson throws a right and a left that Brandao avoids nicely. Johnson throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Left hook, right uppercut from Johnson. Johnson throws a leg kick which misses Brandao's front leg but catches the back leg as Brandao tries to avoid it. Brandao blocks a leg kick. Johnson connects with a crisp jab.
That's one minute gone in the round. Johnson swings away with a leg kick that misses. Johnson stuffs the takedown. Brandao's leg has a nasty welt from taking a succession of leg kicks. That must be slowing him down. Brandao closes the distance and clinches up with Johnson, looking for a takedown. Brandao pushes Johnson against the cage but Johnson circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Johnson lands with an overhand left. That kick from Johnson tenderised Brandao's leg. Brandao is trying to keep his angry face on. Brandao slips a jab and a cross from Johnson.
Bradley Johnson is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Johnson lands a jab-cross combination. Johnson throws a low kick but it's checked well by Brandao. Johnson cracks the inside of Brandao's front leg. Brandao shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. Bradley Johnson has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Diego Brandao. Johnson lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected. Johnson lands a head kick!
Brandao is rocked! This has been an exciting period of action! Brandao wants to stay close but Johnson steps back to make room for something. Brandao seems frozen to the spot and bam! huge swing of the leg from Johnson and Brandao drops like he has been shot! A huge head kick and it's all over!
