Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 12 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Zack Ertz!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 27 - 20 - 1, fighting out of London, Mark Worsely!
The judges for this bout are Paul Tew, Phil Schofield and James Atkins.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Worsely lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Ertz at a distance.
Worsely tries to close the distance and clinch but Ertz swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Worsely looks to land a combination but Ertz avoids it well.
Worsely misses with a takedown
and Ertz counters with a stiff right hand.
Mark Worsely seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Worsely throws a leg kick but Ertz moved away.
Worsely throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Ertz.
Worsely takes a swing at Ertz's ribcage but misses.
Ertz attempts a low kick but it misses it's target.
Worsely rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Ertz moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Worsely throws a leg kick but Ertz sees it coming and moves out of range.
Worsely slips a straight right by Ertz.
Ertz scores with a push kick.

Worsely moves out of range as Ertz strikes.
We've been hearing reports that Ertz has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight.
Worsely lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Ertz circles away quickly and effectively.
Ertz lands with a thumping leg kick.
Worsely uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Ertz.
Worsely lands an overhand right.
Worsely is looking to clinch.
Worsely misses with a hook.
Worsely moves out of range of the leg kick from Ertz.
Worsely ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.
Worsely scores with a shot to the body.
Ertz misses the shot to the body.
Ertz tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Worsely was well out of range. Poor timing from Ertz.

Ertz throws a nice outside leg kick.
Worsely keeping at a good range here, avoiding a leg kick.

Worsely feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Ertz manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Worsely is desperately trying to improve his position but Ertz has a good base and remains in mount.
Ertz landing strikes, looking to finish!
Ertz breaks from Worsely's wrist control and lands an elbow.
Ertz scores with a couple of good head shots there.


Worsely is rocked!
Worsely is in a horrible position here. Ertz smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.
Worsely is still in real trouble! Can Ertz finish him?
Ertz punishing his opponent with strikes.
Worsely tries to get back to half guard but can't.
The referee warns Worsely that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.
Ertz lands a heavy shot. That's hurt Worsely! Ertz sees the opportunity and turns up the heat - strike after strike land to the defenseless Worsely and the ref dives in to save him! This one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:18 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Strikes). Zack Ertz!
An out of breath Zack Ertz thanked his loyal fans in his post fight interview, giving them credit for his success over the course of his career.
