Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Jason Forrest! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Ryszard Bekas! The judges for this bout are Winston Alpacca, Sandra Marshall and David Hoff.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Forrest shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat. Forrest is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound. Forrest passes Bekas's right leg, so he's now in half guard. Bekas tries to get to full guard but Forrest has control of the leg. Bekas looking to work for a kimura from the bottom. Forrest is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Bekas doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Forrest. Bekas looking for submissions off his back. Forrest perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there. Forrest wants to pass the guard but Bekas is defending well.
That's one minute gone in the round. Forrest seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense. Forrest wants to stand up but Bekas is controlling the position.
Bekas tries to roll over but Forrest keeps him under control. Forrest working over Bekas with some ground and pound. Bekas looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable. Forrest keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action. Bekas looking for submissions off his back. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Bekas looking for submissions off his back. The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now. Forrest takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Bekas tries to get to full guard but Forrest has control of the leg. Forrest is nestled in close to Bekas, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure. Bekas is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Forrest pulls his head out easily. Bekas looking for submissions from an awkward position here. Bekas looking for submissions off his back. Forrest is figuring out what he wants to do next.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Bekas looking for a kimura from the bottom but Forrest passes into side control! Forrest tries to stand but Bekas is controlling his head. Bekas tries to buck Forrest off but Forrest is having none of it. The referee tells the fighters to keep busy. Bekas tries to buck Forrest off but Forrest is having none of it. Forrest has knee on belly and moves into mount. Bekas is trying to escape the mount.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Forrest goes for an armbar but he's fallen flat on his backside there and now Bekas is on top in guard.

Bekas lands a couple of digs. Forrest on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Forrest tries to get out of the position. Forrest wants to stand but Bekas is controlling the position. Forrest looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Bekas got a little sloppy there for a moment and Forrest has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Bekas has managed to get both his arms back between Forrest's legs - danger averted. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Bekas with a flurry of punches that miss. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Jason Forrest dominated that round. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.
Bekas darts in looking for a takedown but Forrest gets double underhooks and turns Bekas into the cage. Forrest pulls guard successfully.
Forrest is adopting a defensive guard. Bekas drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Bekas jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. Forrest will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Bekas won't allow Forrest to sweep him here. Forrest has his hands on Bekas's head, controlling the position. Bekas stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Forrest swivels though and keeps the full guard. Bekas drops back looking for a leg! Forrest is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Forrest manages to kick Bekas off! Bekas jumps back into Forrest's guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Bekas stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Forrest swivels though and keeps the full guard. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Bekas accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Forrest wants to stand but Bekas is controlling the position. Bekas throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Forrest works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Forrest wants to stand up but Bekas is controlling him.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Bekas throwing strikes from guard but Forrest blocks nicely. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Bekas accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Forrest looking for a sweep. Not yet Forrest, not yet. My spies in Island Premium CT inform me that Bekas has been getting involved in the gym's BJJ sparring sessions. Let's see whether that pays dividends! Forrest is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage. Bekas is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Bekas trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Bekas throws an elbow that misses. Forrest uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Bekas's guard. Nice move by Forrest!
That's three minutes gone in the round. Bekas is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Forrest defends well. Bekas working for a triangle but Forrest defends it easily.
Bekas is breathing heavily. Forrest tries to stand but Bekas is controlling from the bottom. Jason Forrest overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Bekas working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Forrest doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Forrest manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Bekas is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Forrest defends well.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Bekas throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Forrest escapes and throws Bekas's legs to the side, diving into side control! Forrest working the head with strikes. Forrest advances to mount. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Forrest controlling the pace for now. Bekas can't escape the position.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Forrest with a couple of short strikes. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close second round but I would say that Jason Forrest will probably get the nod. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!
Forrest slaps away a takedown attempt from Bekas, before circling back to the center of the mat. Bekas tries for a takedown but Forrest circles away easily and Forrest counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Forrest. Forrest's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Forrest shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Bekas napping and manages to drive through into side control! Forrest has knee on belly and moves into mount. Forrest dominating with strikes here. Bekas is working to get back to half guard.
Forrest with a couple of short strikes. This has been an exciting period of action! Forrest lands a nice shot to the head. Forrest manages to capitalize on a mistake by Bekas to take his back! Bekas takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Forrest scores with punches from the back.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Forrest is working for the rear naked choke. He has one arm under the chin but Bekas has hold of the other arm. A bit of a stalemate here. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Bekas rolls, trying to escape but Forrest keeps control of the position.
Forrest has good solid back control here. Forrest has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Bekas tries to escape but Forrest has the hooks in and won't let him break free. Bekas is still trying to improve position. Bekas is persisting with the attempt to improve his position. Forrest controls the action. Bekas fending off the submission attempt from Forrest. Bekas is defending well here and trying to improve his position.
Forrest is controlling his opponent, waiting for an opportunity to finish. Forrest has the hooks in. Bekas is trying to push off one leg but he has to do so cautiously to avoid being submitted.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Forrest has good solid back control here. Forrest tightening his grip on Bekas, looking for the choke. Forrest biding his time, looking for the opening.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Forrest is hanging on to Bekas's back as he tries to escape.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Forrest is working hard for the rear naked choke here.
Ryszard Bekas has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Jason Forrest is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Bekas can't escape the position.
