Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jani Toivola (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Frank Blik (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Frank Blik is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Jani Toivola! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Frank Blik! The judges for this bout are Matti Vanhoillinen, Marco Blurström and Johanna Lukiainen.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Toivola cracks the inside of Blik's front leg. Toivola tries to clinch up. Toivola throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Blik fails with a takedown attempt from distance. Toivola tries to clinch up but Blik circles away and keeps his distance. Excellent takedown into side control there by Blik. Blik looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything. Toivola is trying to buck Blik off. Blik tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Blik has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought! Blik advances to full mount.
That's one minute gone in the round. Toivola squirming around on the bottom, looking to escape.
Toivola really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Blik has control of Toivola's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Toivola regains control of the situation pretty easily.

That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Toivola throws a body kick but he was well out of range there. Toivola tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Blik shoots in for a double leg but Toivola sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. Jani Toivola seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Toivola tries to clinch but Blik moves out of range. Toivola fails in his attempt to clinch. Toivola lands with a slapping head kick. Toivola misses with a leg kick. Toivola throws a head kick but Blik moves out of range.
Toivola tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Blik fails to land the takedown. Jani Toivola has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Frank Blik. Toivola throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Toivola fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Blik, pushing him back against the cage. Blik wants a takedown but no success here.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Toivola breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Toivola lands a nice leg kick that just misses Blik's sensitive parts. Toivola tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Blik paws at him with a jab and circles away. Blik blocks a head kick by Toivola.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Toivola pushes Blik away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Blik gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now. Toivola takes a nasty elbow to the side of the head. Toivola is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Blik asserts his dominance and retains side control. Blik tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Blik has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought! Blik thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead. A close round but Frank Blik will probably get the nod. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.
Toivola wants to clinch up but Blik keeps it at a distance. Toivola tries to clinch up. Toivola tries a head kick but it misses.

Blik shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Toivola as he avoids it easily. Toivola pulls out of a head kick attempt.

Toivola throws a quick head kick that skims the top of Blik's head. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Blik feints and as Toivola raises his hands in defense, Blik changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Blik throws a big right hand that misses. Blik chips away with some ground and pound. Blik with a flurry of punches that miss. Blik stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Toivola swivels though and keeps the full guard. Toivola will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
That's one minute gone in the round. Blik prevents Toivola from getting back to his feet. Blik is pushing down on Toivola's leg trying to pass to half guard. Toivola is fighting to maintain full guard but Blik has managed to sneak the leg through. Blik prevents Toivola from standing back up.
The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Blik lands a nice short elbow. Blik trying to mount his opponent but Toivola defends it.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Blik avoids the head kick by Toivola.
Blik shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Blik showed some decent athleticism there. Blik prevents Toivola from standing back up.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Blik looking to pass the half guard. Not this time. Blik has hold of the far side arm. He's working for the Kimura, can Toivola defend it? Blik steps over the head and cranks it - Toivola is tapping out! That was textbook stuff right there - nice submission victory for Blik!
