Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Eduardo Alvarez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Takeshi Watanabe (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
10 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Eduardo Alvarez! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
10 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Takeshi Watanabe! The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, George Francis and Frank Dennis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Watanabe misses with a hook. Alvarez ducked under it nicely. Watanabe swings widly with a right hand
and Alvarez counters with a shoot takedown. Watanabe fights it but they end up in guard. Alvarez won't allow Watanabe to sweep him here. Alvarez controlling from the top position. Alvarez makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard. Alvarez controls the pace of the fight for a moment. Alvarez working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Watanabe's head. Alvarez lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Alvarez is stalling in the full guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Alvarez lands a couple of decent looking shots. Watanabe really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Alvarez. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Watanabe wants to improve his position but instead Alvarez has moved into half guard.
Alvarez uses his free foot to push down on Watanabe's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Watanabe.
That's one minute gone in the round. Alvarez controlling from mount. Alvarez landing strikes, looking to finish! Watanabe can't escape the position.
Alvarez controlling the pace for now. Alvarez fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!
Alvarez controlling from the full mount. Watanabe tries to get back to half guard but can't.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Alvarez controlling the position easily from mount. Alvarez lands with some strikes. Watanabe working to try and regain half guard.
Watanabe in a bad spot here, taking shots to the head. Alvarez fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!
Alvarez lands a big shot there that rocks Watanabe but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.
Watanabe is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. Alvarez tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position. Alvarez prevents Watanabe from getting the reversal. Alvarez landing strikes from the mount.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Alvarez controlling the pace for now. A nice elbow there by Alvarez. Alvarez working for a submission here. He's tucked his head under his opponent's arm, looking for an arm triangle. He's hopped off into side control, looking to tighten the submission... is it going to work? He's given up a good position looking for it. Watanabe looks OK. Oh, I spoke too soon, he's out! That must have been tighter than I thought! Excellent work there by Alvarez! Submission of the night perhaps?
