Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Willian Randolph (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Puna Wai (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Well, I have no idea who's going to take this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Willian Randolph!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Puna Wai!
The judges for this bout are Micheangelo Fripello, Josh West and Chris Saunders.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Wai avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Randolph is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Wai avoids a punch combination nicely.
Randolph wants to clinch but Wai slips to the side

so Wai counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
Wai scores with a decent looking elbow strike.
Wai with a flurry of punches that miss.
Wai throws a big elbow that misses.
Wai throws a big right hand that misses.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Wai accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Wai makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Wai throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
Wai throws a big elbow that misses.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Wai engaging in some classic timewasting tactics.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Wai trying to control but Randolph is working from the bottom.
Wai showing good wrestling skills to control the position.
Wai has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Hammerfist, elbow! yells Wai's corner. There ya go! There ya go!
Wai wants to control from the top but Randolph keeps moving.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Puna Wai was stalling too much, according to the referee.

Wai shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Randolph's guard.
Wai lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard.
Wai is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.
Randolph avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Wai throws an elbow that misses. Randolph uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Wai's guard. Nice move by Randolph!

Wai has managed to work for a loose triangle. I think Randolph should be able to defend this one pretty easily though. Oh, Wai has tightened it up now! Randolph should have reacted faster there - he's in big trouble and yes, he's tapped out! This one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:54 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle). Puna Wai!
