Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Shane Vaughan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Serge Tungsten (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Serge Tungsten is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Shane Vaughan!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Serge Tungsten!
The judges for this bout are Vladimir Khabensky, Aleksei Zolotukhin and Ivan Kurochkin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Vaughan misses with a body shot.
Tungsten gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
letting Vaughan counter with a right hand.
Tungsten thows a body shot but no joy.
Tungsten fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Tungsten shoots for a takedown but Vaughan saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Shane Vaughan has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Serge Tungsten.
Vaughan lands with a straight right. Tungsten didn't see that one coming.

Vaughan clinches up with Tungsten and pushes him back against the cage.

Tungsten might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Vaughan haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Tungsten slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Tungsten accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Tungsten is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Vaughan to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Vaughan shrugs it off.

Serge Tungsten dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.



Tungsten takes the fight into the clinch.

Vaughan pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Vaughan scores with a jab to the head.
Vaughan takes a body punch but keeps moving.
Tungsten displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Vaughan throws out the jab.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Tungsten.
Vaughan misses with a low kick.
Tungsten throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Vaughan misses with an uppercut. Tungsten saw that one coming.
Tungsten's coach down at was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Tungsten's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight.
Tungsten shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Vaughan as he jumps to the side.

Vaughan closes the distance and pushes Tungsten back into the cage.

Vaughan escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Tungsten fails with the takedown.
Vaughan cracks Tungsten with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd.
Tungsten looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Vaughan is fending him off so far but Tungsten persists. Nope, Vaughan circles away and we're back to standing.
Vaughan lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.
Vaughan avoids the body shot from Tungsten.
Vaughan lands a kick to the ribs of his opponent. Nice work there - in and out in a flash.
Vaughan lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw.
Vaughan moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination.
Tungsten is on the wrong end of a nice combination from Vaughan.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Tungsten drops back, looking for a kneebar! Vaughan looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Vaughan looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Vaughan!

Vaughan tries to get to his feet but Tungsten is in the middle of advancing position himself and ends up with Vaughan in his guard.
