Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Foul Play (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ratt Hughes (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Play comes to the cage accompanied by Simon Says-Pharaohe Monche. Hughes is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Country boy can survive. Foul Play could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Ratt Hughes's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

41 - 21 - 1, fighting out of Tokyo, Ratt Hughes!
The judges for this bout are David Schapiro, Lou da Vinci and John Kavanagh.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hughes tries to close the distance and clinch but Play swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Hughes crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Play - the referee stops the clock and Hughes gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Play. Hughes manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes.
Play avoids a punch combination nicely.
Play misses with a body shot.
A telegraphed right hand from Play misses the target.
Play jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Hughes misses with a takedown attempt - Play sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Play will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.

Play steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Hughes.
Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Play.

Hughes moves in looking to clinch but Play pushes him off.
Play stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Play wants it to stay on the feet.

Foul Play seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Hughes takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.
Play's corner calls for a 1-2. Play obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.

Foul Play is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Hughes on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.

The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Ratt Hughes.
Hughes misses with a series of wild punches.
Play lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.

Some bone on bone action there as Hughes checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one.
Hughes has done a lot of speed work in the buildup to this fight.
Play tries to keep at a distance but Hughes has taken the fight into the clinch.
Play lands a right uppercut that snaps the head of Hughes backwards.
Play lands a nice looking hook to the body, against the cage.
Play gets underhooks to prevent Hughes's takedown attempt.
Foul Play has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Ratt Hughes.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Play pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Hughes takes a body kick right on the floating rib. Ouchie.
Play cracks Hughes with a big right hand that sends him to the floor! Hughes looks wobbly but he's sprung back up to his feet straight away… can Play finish him?

Hughes takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.
Play throws a hard body shot but it just misses.

Play is looking to wear down Hughes with body shots, infact he's throwing more body shots than head shots at the moment.
Hughes takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh.
Play moves into range and lands a nice leg kick.
Play misses with an attempted mid kick.
Play feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Hughes's calf.
Play lands a big right hand that sends Hughes crashing to the mat! Play stays standing though and waves Hughes back to his feet!
Play sees an opening and throws a straight punch right through Hughes's defenses. It connects perfectly with Hughes's jaw and knocks him out cold! Wow - that's a contender for knockout of the year - absolutely brutal!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:42 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Foul Play!
