Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Krzysiek Oki (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jantte Pekkanen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jantte Pekkanen has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Krzysiek Oki's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Krzysiek Oki!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Jantte Pekkanen!
The judges for this bout are Matti Vanhoillinen, Ben Zyskovitsi and Marco Blurström.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Pekkanen moves into the clinch.
Oki breaks the clinch.
Pekkanen misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Oki is looking to take this fight into the clinch.

and Oki counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Pekkanen gets a takedown into half guard.
Oki is trying to escape back to his feet but Pekkanen uses the scramble to pass into side control.

Oki is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Pekkanen stands up from half guard... He's had enough of that ground malarky for the time being.
A punch lands to the side of Pekkanen 's head but he takes it in his stride.
Pekkanen tries to clinch there but Oki circles away.
Oki moves into the clinch.
The pace really dropping off here, momentarily.
Oki pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

Pekkanen stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Pekkanen wants it to stay on the feet.
Oki darts in and clinches Pekkanen up against the cage.
Oki has a couple of punches blocked by Pekkanen.
Pekkanen breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Oki shoots in looking for a takedown. Pekkanen tries to sprawl out of it but Oki keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Pekkanen manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Oki shoots in for a takedown but Pekkanen shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Krzysiek Oki. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Pekkanen has Oki pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Pekkanen pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Oki tumbling to the mat - Pekkanen dives into Oki's guard.
Oki seems to have improved his submission grappling technique since last time we saw him. Let's see if he can pull off a submission.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

A close round but Jantte Pekkanen will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
Oki lands the left hand.
Oki tries to score a power double leg takedown but Pekkanen sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Oki somewhat.
Oki lands with a nice combination. Pekkanen backs away looking to recover.
Oki defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Pekkanen.
Pekkanen tries for a takedown but Oki sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Pekkanen shoots in but no luck this time.
Krzysiek Oki has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jantte Pekkanen.
Pekkanen fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Pekkanen shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Oki eats them both and turns towards Pekkanen to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.
Pekkanen changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Oki tries to avoid it but Pekkanen manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Oki to the ground. Oki escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Pekkanen is breathing heavily.

Oki tries to free his leg and advance position but Pekkanen is retaining full guard.
Oki knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Pekkanen on the ground.

Oki decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.

Pekkanen might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Oki haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.
Pekkanen postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.

Pekkanen wants to control from the top but Oki keeps moving.

Oki is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Pekkanen pulls his head out easily.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Pekkanen content to control rather than advance.
Oki has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Pekkanen is working away from the top position though.
Pekkanen wants to lay and pray for a moment but Oki keeps working.
And that's the end of the fight!
That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Krzysiek Oki.
Well Oki has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
