Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Liu Kang (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Herb Dean (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Liu Kang!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 5 - 0, fighting out of New York, Herb Dean!
The judges for this bout are Gregory Folan, Ian Loll and Alec Ball.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Kang gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
Dean is in close to Kang's body, working some short punches and elbows.
Kang is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Dean is controlling him.
Kang trying desperately to get back to his feet here but he's not having any joy at all. He's going to tire himself out if he's not careful.

Dean is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Kang working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Dean.
Dean is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
Dean missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.

Kang is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Dean is controlling him.
Dean throws a big right hand that misses.
Kang has momentary wrist control but Dean slips an elbow through the middle.
Dean controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
Dean wants to pass the guard but Kang is keeping the position.
Dean stays in close to Kang's body and controls the position.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Herb Dean hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.
Dean misses with a hook
and Dean takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Dean moves out of range as Kang throws a body kick.
No luck for Dean with that takedown attempt.
Kang lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent.
Dean waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Kang.
Dean should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.

Dean moves into the clinch successfully.

Dean wants the takedown. Kang is fighting it off but Dean persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Kang's guard against the cage.
Kang knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Dean on the ground.
Dean stays in close to Kang's body and controls the position.
Dean cracks Kang with a solid left hand.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Kang can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Dean controls the pace.
Hammerfist, elbow! yells Dean's corner. There ya go! There ya go!
Kang on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Kang tries to get out of the position.
Dean pushes down on Kang's leg and manages to get into half guard.
Dean winds up and cracks Kang with a swinging punch to the side of the head.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Dean tries to pass to full mount but Kang defends it.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Herb Dean dominated that round.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


Kang throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Dean throws a low kick but his opponent is out of range.
Kang defending well as Dean loads up on a big left hand.
Nice uppercut lands for Kang. That snapped Dean's head back.


It looks like Herb Dean has been cut.
Kang misses with a straight left.
Dean misses the shot to the body.
Kang darts in and out, connecting with a jab.
Dean dives in for a single leg takedown but Kang sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.

Dean turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Dean manages to end up in side control.

Kang is trying to get back to his feet.
Dean in side control, trying to ground and pound but not landing this time.
Dean scores with a couple of short elbows.
Dean working the body and head with strikes.
Kang takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.
Kang trying to remain calm as Dean controls from the top position.

Kang wants to escape from the position here - easier said than done!
Dean taking a breather here.
Sloppy strikes there by Dean.
Dean throws a knee to the body but it doesn't do much damage.
Kang being controlled for a moment.

Herb Dean has got the better of the ground game so far.

The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Herb Dean.
Dean fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Liu Kang has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Herb Dean.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Dean swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Kang lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Herb Dean showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! This is the final round!



Dean shoots in and bounces Kang off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
Dean engaging in some classic timewasting tactics.
Kang can't keep his opponent in guard - Dean advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.

Dean is taking a breather. Kang says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
Dean working the head and body with strikes.
Dean tries to pass to full mount but Kang defends it.
Dean thows a huge punch but Kang dodges it nicely.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Dean throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
Dean looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Kang with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
Dean controlling the action here.
Dean is nestled in close to Kang, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.

Dean is figuring out what he wants to do next.
Dean has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Dean darts in looking for a takedown but Kang gets double underhooks and turns Dean into the cage.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Kang is trying to break the clinch but Dean has him pressed against the cage.
Liu Kang has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Herb Dean is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.

Dean breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

And that's the end of the fight!
Herb Dean comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I've got Dean winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
