Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Son Briggs (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dan Black (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). There are an array of beautiful celebrities at ringside tonight! I wonder if any of them paid for their tickets.

The judges for this bout are Chris Edwards, James Glass and James Ackerman.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Black darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
Briggs wants to sweep but Black has passed to side control!
Briggs is not content to let Black control the position.
Black working the body and head with strikes.
Black wants to lay and pray for a moment but Briggs keeps working.

Black tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Black has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Black wants to finish this one by submission but Briggs is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Black.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Briggs slips a leg in and gets back to half guard.
Briggs is breathing heavily.
Black is controlling the pace.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Black is stalling here. Briggs is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Black seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Briggs has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work.

Briggs won't allow Black to get back to his feet.
Briggs is working Black over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Black working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Briggs doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Briggs manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Black slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

Black must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Briggs really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Briggs has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Black can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Briggs drops back looking for a leg! Black is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Black manages to kick Briggs off! Briggs jumps back into Black's guard.

That was a close second round but I would say that Son Briggs will probably get the nod.

Black takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Black thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.

Black wants to free his trapped foot but Briggs is holding on for dear life with his legs.
Briggs is staying active underneath Black, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

Black is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Dan Black was stalling too much, according to the referee.

Dan Black comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Black has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
