Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Sanford Mays (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jimmy Brown (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jimmy Brown will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of London, Sanford Mays!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Jimmy Brown!
The judges for this bout are Donald Grub, William Gold and Chris Edwards.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Brown shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
Brown trying to control but Mays is working from the bottom.
Brown wants to stand and escape but instead Mays has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.
Brown is trying to keep Mays in close.
Brown might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Mays haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.

Jimmy Brown has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet.

Mays scores with a takedown into Brown's guard.
Brown looking to hit a scissor sweep but Mays is one step ahead there.

Mays not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
Brown is pulling down on Mays's head to control his posture.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
Brown misses with the combination.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Mays enables Brown to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Mays manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
Brown wants to stand and escape but instead Mays has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.
Brown preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.
A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Brown holds on and takes a little breather.
Mays working some strikes from top position.

Brown utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Mays could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Brown wants to get back to his feet but Mays is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
Mays working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
Mays missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
Brown wants to control but instead he gets his guard passed and Mays is now in half guard.
Mays throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.

The fighters are battling for position here. Brown manages to regain full guard. Nice work.
Mays throws a big right hand that misses.
Brown has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.
Brown avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Mays cracks Brown with a solid left hand.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Jimmy Brown will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


Brown keeps the fight on the outside.
Mays slips a jab and a cross from Brown.

Brown gets a clinch.

Brown pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Sloppy strikes from Brown. Those never looked like landing.
Mays moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.
Jimmy Brown seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Brown gets caught flat footed, as Mays shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Brown controls Mays momentarily but Mays frees himself.
Brown looking to hit a scissor sweep but Mays is one step ahead there.

Mays drops back looking for a leg! Brown is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Brown manages to kick Mays off! Mays jumps back into Brown's guard.

Brown has momentary wrist control but Mays slips an elbow through the middle.
Mays stopping the sweep attempt from Brown.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Mays is looking to work some ground and pound but Brown has wrist control.
Mays lands a couple of elbows.
Brown utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Mays throws a big right hand that misses.
A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Brown holds on and takes a little breather.

Brown looking for a sweep. Not yet Brown, not yet.
Brown is looking to stand back up but Mays counters by passing into half guard. Oops... bit sloppy there by Brown.

Mays looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Brown really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Mays. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Brown trying to control from the bottom.
Brown is breathing heavily.

Mays prevents Brown from standing back up.
Brown moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.
Brown wants to improve his position but instead Mays has moved into half guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close second round but I would say that Sanford Mays will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. Let's get this one finished - here comes the final round!


Mays checks the leg kick.
Mays tries to clinch but Brown moves out of range.
Brown cracks Mays with a good jab.


It looks like Sanford Mays has been cut.

Brown gets a takedown into half guard.

Brown decides to return to a standing position.

Mays closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Brown did well to prevent Mays getting side control.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Brown is looking to get back to is feet but Mays passes into side control.
Brown takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Mays creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Brown sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike.

Brown defending against the ground and pound.

Mays wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Brown, who protects the arm well.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Brown taking punishment in the form of punches.
Brown struggling a bit here.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Mays throws an elbow but Brown slips to the side and avoids it well.
Brown is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Mays is controlling him well.
Brown tries to slip a leg under to move to half guard but Mays presses down on the leg and jumps into full mount!

That's three minutes gone in the round.
You get the feeling that Brown really doesn't like being in this position too much.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Brown can do anything to dispel that myth.
Mays is landing with some decent strikes but Brown is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.
Mays lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.
Mays sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment.
Mays with the ground and pound from mount.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The referee warns Brown that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.
Mays takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
Brown takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Brown wants to hold on but Mays pushes him away.
Mays lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning.

And that's the end of the fight!
Sanford Mays showed his dominance in that final round.
I think Mays has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
