Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Carloss Sanchez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Zaru Kayne (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Zaru Kayne!
The judges for this bout are Winston Alpacca, Santiago Holmes and Sandra Marshall.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Kayne shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
Kayne thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Sanchez's head.
Sanchez on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound.
Kayne not landing any meaningful shots this time.
Kayne controlling the pace.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Kayne wants to pass the guard but Sanchez is defending well.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Sanchez shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Kayne pinned against the cage. Kayne gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

Kayne's coach down at Elite Training Facility was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Kayne's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight.
Kayne throws a right hand that Sanchez ducks under and follows up with a left that Sanchez also avoids with ease.

Sanchez closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Kayne connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son.
Sanchez takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.
A decent looking cross lands there for Kayne.
Kayne blocks a head kick by Sanchez.

Kayne lands with a hook. Sanchez tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.

Sanchez fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Kayne manages to avoid it.

Kayne rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Sanchez moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

Sanchez tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Sanchez goes for a double leg but Kayne avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Kayne continues to drive forward.
Sanchez blocks an uppercut.
Sanchez tries to land a knee to the body but he is off balance and Kayne avoids it.
Sanchez is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Kayne to keep the fight standing.

Kayne manages to break the clinch.
Kayne slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.
Kayne will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Kayne stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.
Sanchez gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Kayne.

Kayne cracks Sanchez with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage.
Sanchez drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles.
Kayne feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Sanchezs jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!

Nice straight punches there by Kayne. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Kayne.
Kayne goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.
Kayne tries to bum rush Sanchez with a series of wild strikes but Sanchez uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

Kayne throws a combination. Sanchez tries to block but a couple of punches get through.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Sanchez fails in his attempt to clinch.
Sanchez looks like he's developed a pretty tasty lump over his left eye. He'll need to avoid taking much more damage to that.
Kayne swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Kayne tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Sanchez was well out of range. Poor timing from Kayne.
Good leg kick by Sanchez there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.
Sanchez throws a low kick but it's checked well by Kayne.
The fighters circling - Kayne throws out the jab but it was never going to land.

Zaru Kayne showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Kayne connects with a body shot that sends Sanchez's belly button to the back.
Kayne thuds his right hand into Sanchez's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.
Kayne misses with a wild body shot.
Kayne avoids the head kick by Sanchez.

Sanchez fails with an attempt to clinch.

Sanchez gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Kayne takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Zaru Kayne comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Kayne has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
