Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Dwight Elkins (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kyle Yikes (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Elkins comes to the cage accompanied by Care Bear Countdown. The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

34 - 23 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Dwight Elkins! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
18 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Kyle Yikes! The judges for this bout are William Peck, Trevor Gratis and Robert Douchet.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Yikes connects with a crisp jab. Yikes lands a nice looking body shot.
Yikes misses with a left hand and Elkins counters with a lovely straight right hand! Elkins lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.

It looks like Dwight Elkins has been cut. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Yikes throws a lazy right hand but Elkins sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily. Elkins scores with a slapping inside leg kick. Yikes waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Elkins. Yikes works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance. A big left from Yikes misses. Elkins shoots in looking for a takedown but Yikes manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Elkins's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away. Elkins drops his hands momentarily and Yikes takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head. Elkins connects with a solid leg kick.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Elkins closes this distance looking for a takedown but Yikes circles away. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Dwight Elkins. That's going to take a lot out of him. Yikes catches Elkins with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong! Yikes thows a body shot but no joy. Yikes gets cracked there but stands up to it.

Yikes tries to avoid it but Elkins manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Yikes to the ground. Yikes escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Yikes misses with a hook. Elkins ducked under it nicely. Elkins looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard. Nice strikes from Elkins there. Yikes tries to kick Elkins off but Elkins keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.

Elkins is looking for a kimura but Yikes is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Elkins to get the leverage. Yikes wants to stand back up but Elkins manages to pass into side control.
We've been hearing that Elkins has been drilling a lot of ground and pound in training, so let's see if he get the finish. Yikes struggling a bit here. Elkins in side control, trying to ground and pound but not landing this time. Elkins has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Elkins in side control, throwing shots but Yikes defends. Yikes pushes Elkins away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Elkins gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.

Yikes tries to control but Elkins manages to take his back. Elkins is looking for the choke from the back position but Yikes is controlling his hands well. Elkins trying to secure his dominant position for a moment - making sure Yikes doesn't escape. Yikes wants to get back to his feet. Elkins lands shots from the back.
