The judges for this bout are Frank Dennis, Tiny Johnson and Wesley Smith.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mitchell shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Mitchell was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
Mitchell tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Mitchell has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
Mitchell throwing ground and pound but whilst doing so, he forgets to control position and Carver works his way back to half guard. Good composure under pressure.
Mitchell seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Carver does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Carver manages to create a bit of space in order to work his way back to his feet. Mitchell keeps hold of his opponent and drives him back against the cage.
