Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Kyo Kusanagi! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Juan Cintron! The judges for this bout are Alyssa Summers, Jorge Garcia and Reed Andrews.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Kusanagi throws a head kick that misses and Cintron counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work. Kusanagi misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.

A head kick by Kusanagi misses and Cintron counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw. Cintron dips down and scores with a jab to the body. Kusanagi misses with a head kick.
Kusanagi lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh. Cintron throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Kusanagi stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly. A head kick by Kusanagi misses and Cintron counters with a quick right hand to the jaw. Kusanagi is breathing heavily. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. A head kick misses from Kusanagi. Cintron shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. Kusanagi throws a head kick that misses. Cintron lands with a head kick! That's gotta hurt.
It looks like Kyo Kusanagi has been cut. Cintron throws a quick inside leg kick. Cintron goes for a double leg but Kusanagi avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Kusanagi continues to drive forward. Cintron breaks from the clinch.
Jab by Cintron. Kusanagi throws a head kick that misses and Cintron counters with a nice uppercut. Cintron throws a sloppy head kick and Kusanagi moves out of range easily.
That's one minute gone in the round. Cintron drives through and clinches with Kusanagi against the cage.
Cintron has hold of one of Kusanagi's legs. Kusanagi is fighting the takedown attempt but Cintron gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard. The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet. Cintron scores with a decent looking elbow strike. Cintron loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Cintron content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots. Cintron wants to control from the top but Kusanagi keeps moving. Cintron working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Kusanagi's head. Cintron scores with a decent looking elbow strike. Cintron wants to control from the top but Kusanagi keeps moving. Kusanagi wants to stand up but Cintron is controlling him. Kusanagi keeping full guard, as Cintron tries to pass.

Cintron is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions. Cintron sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Kusanagi's guard. Cintron has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Cintron tries to pass to full mount but Kusanagi defends it. Kusanagi keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound. Cintron stalling. Cintron lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Cintron takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists. Cintron trying to control the action but Kusanagi is working from the bottom.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Kusanagi blocking the ground and pound attempt from Cintron. Kusanagi wants to get back to his feet.
Cintron working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that. Cintron works his way into full mount! Cintron lands a heavy elbow. Kusanagi wants to try and get back to his feet. Cintron landing strikes from the mount and Kusanagi is in trouble! Cintron wants to control the pace but Kusanagi is squirming around nicely. Cintron controlling his opponent.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The referee warns Kusanagi that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.
This has been an exciting period of action! Cintron looking to ground and pound his opponent to a finish here.
Cintron wants to control the pace but Kusanagi is squirming around nicely. Kusanagi really wants to buck Cintron off and get back to his feet. Cintron lands a nice shot to the head. Kusanagi knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Cintron on the ground. Cintron tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Cintron scoring with strikes but Kusanagi is staying in there. Cintron wants to control the pace but Kusanagi is squirming around nicely. Kusanagi taking shots to the head. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Juan Cintron dominated that round. The cut man is working on Kyo Kusanagi's cut. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.
Kusanagi throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Kusanagi throws a head kick that misses and Cintron counters with a left and a right that stings Kusanagi. Kusanagi throws a sloppy head kick and Cintron moves out of range easily. A head kick misses from Kusanagi. We've been informed that Cintron has been working hard on his conditioning in the buildup to the fight. Kusanagi throws a head kick that looked like it stung.
Cintron shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Kusanagi defends it nicely. Cintron connects with a right hand. Kusanagi shakes it off.
Kusanagi is rocked! Cintron blocks a head kick by Kusanagi.
Cintron lands the left hand. Oh Kusanagi is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!! This has been an exciting period of action! Kusanagi drops his hands for a split second and Cintron immediately capitalizes on the opportunity by smashing a powerful hook into Kusanagi face, sending his mouthguard sailing through the air, much to the delight of the crowd. Cintron follows up with a right hand that knocks Kusanagi into next week. He's out cold and this fight is over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:42 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Juan Cintron! In his post fight interview, Juan Cintron started talking himself up. Luckily his charisma kept the crowd on side and gave him a good reception.
