Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Lefty Hall! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Karl Mcneil! The judges for this bout are Columbo Gatti, Alyssa Summers and Dean Styles.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Mcneil misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Mcneil throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Hall's waist but Hall gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Mcneil off to one side. Hall avoids the head kick by Mcneil.
Hall shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Mcneil's guard. Mcneil wants to stand up but Hall is controlling him. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Hall accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Mcneil keeping moving, preventing Hall from controlling successfully. Hall thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. Mcneil wants to stand but Hall is controlling the position. Hall tries to stand but Mcneil is controlling from the bottom. Mcneil wants to stand up but Hall is controlling him.
That's one minute gone in the round. Mcneil is trying to keep Hall in close.
Hall could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely. Hall trying to stand up but can't free himself from Mcneil's guard. Hall drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Hall jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. Mcneil is trying to keep Hall in close.
Hall stops Mcneil from standing up. Hall sitting in guard, not really doing much. Hall drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Mcneil manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Hall has Mcneil in his guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Mcneil wants to stand up, so he's looking to wriggle free of Hall's closed guard. He's half up but Hall has locked on to an arm! Uh oh! Hall pivots and extends the arm, Mcneil falls face first to the mat and taps??... does he?? YES! He's tapping! Excellent counter grappling there by Hall! Well done that man!
