Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Bishop Huff (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Boxing Sparring (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Sparring has a niggling injury. He would have liked to come in 100% fit but that's not always possible. Boxing Sparring has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Bishop Huff's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Bishop Huff!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Boxing Sparring!
The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, Frank Antenori and Don Winkell.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
No luck for Huff with that takedown attempt.
Sparring looks winded!
Huff looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Sparring avoids a low kick by using good footwork.

Huff takes the fight into the clinch.
Huff is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Sparring gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.
Huff lands a left hand that snaps the head of Sparring backwards.

Huff breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Huff throws a head kick but Sparring moves out of range.
Huff throws a leg kick
and Sparring counters with a head kick. That will keep Huff thinking before he tries any more sloppy attacks!
Nice takedown defense from Sparring. No joy for Huff on that attempt.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Bishop Huff. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Huff shoots in for a double leg but Sparring sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Sparring has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.

and Huff counters into the clinch. Nicely done.
Huff has Sparring pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Sparring manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.

Huff successfully pulls guard.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.
Huff is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Huff is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control.

Huff drops down looking for an ankle pick but Sparring pulls his leg out and moves away.
Huff shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Sparring as he jumps to the side.
Sparring shoots for a takedown but Huff saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.

Huff will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Sparring fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Huff avoids it really well and circles away.
Huff connects with a body shot.
Huff stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Huff wants it to stay on the feet.
Sparring keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Huff goes for a double leg but Sparring avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Sparring continues to drive forward.
Sparring goes for a body shot but it's blocked.
Sparring blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning.

Some stalling of biblical proportions here from Huff.
Sparring prevents a takedown attempt there.
Huff on the defensive, avoiding the knees to the body.
Sparring tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.

Huff pulls Sparring into guard.
Huff bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Sparring's guard.
Huff throwing strikes from guard but Sparring blocks nicely.

Huff stands up from Sparring's guard - Huff perhaps looking for a knockout.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Bishop Huff dominated that round.
That's time! Huff's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.


Huff tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Sparring swivels and escapes.
Huff shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Sparring but Sparring pushes him off and we're back to square one.

and Huff holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.

Huff drags the fight down to the ground.
Huff has Sparring pulled in close to control his posture.

Huff manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Sparring manages to get himself to full guard.
Huff really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Huff advances to half guard.
Sparring really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Huff. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Huff in particular looking to stall.
Huff looks to score some points with some ground and pound.

Huff escapes and gets back to his feet.
Sparring leaves Huff with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

Huff shoots in and drives through. Sparring sprawls well.
Huff throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Sparring's waist but Sparring gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Huff off to one side.

Sparring looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Huff is fending him off so far but Sparring persists. Nope, Huff circles away and we're back to standing.
Huff shoots in but no luck this time.
Sparring shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Huff as he avoids it easily.

Huff moves into the clinch successfully.
Sparring tries to circle away but Huff has him pinned against the cage.
Huff trying to land knees to the body.

Huff works for the underhooks and manages to get a trip takedown into guard.
Huff controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
Sparring avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Bishop Huff wasn't doing enough on the ground.
Huff looks to land a combination but Sparring avoids it well.
Sparring will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

Huff instigates a clinch.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!


Sparring stuffs the takedown attempt from Huff. Huff gets slowly back to his feet.
Sparring closes the distance looking to clinch
and Huff counters with a right hand to the body.
Huff throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Sparring's waist but Sparring gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Huff off to one side.

Huff closes the distance and pushes Sparring back into the cage.
The pace slowing considerably in the clinch, as Huff takes a break from that fighting nonsense to think about the finer things in life.
Sparring is looking to break free of the clinch but Huff has double underhooks.
Huff can't break the clinch.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Huff slowing the pace effectively.

Huff is looking to take this one to the mat.

Huff moves into range and clinches up with Sparring.
Sparring has Huff pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Huff manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.
Sparring looking to stall.

Huff gets control of Sparring's arms and successfully pulls guard. Huff will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.

Huff has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes Sparring off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Huff.

Sparring moves to clinch but Huff breaks away

and Huff counters by clinching up.
Huff wants to take the fight to the mat but Sparring manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch.
Sparring wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.
Huff keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Sparring's efforts to push away.
Huff wants a takedown.

Huff drags the fight down to the ground.
Huff has his hands on Sparring's head, controlling the position.
Sparring trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.

Huff is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Huff is on top in guard.

Huff decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Huff stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Huff wants it to stay on the feet.
Boxing Sparring has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Bishop Huff is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.

Well Huff has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
