A fine choice. Kenny has chosen Johnny Cash - Ring of Fire as his entrance music. King Kenny has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Alekseev fails with a takedown attempt.

Alekseev pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces Kenny back to the cage. Alekseev follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
Alekseev is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Kenny defends well.

Alekseev scrambles, trying to get to his feet, but Kenny manages to mount him!
Kenny prevents Alekseev from getting the reversal.
Alekseev tries to hold on but Kenny pushes him away.
Kenny lands a big shot there that rocks Alekseev but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Alekseev is trying desperately to improve position.
Alekseev is squirming around, avoiding Kenny's attempts to control the action.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Kenny is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Alekseev can't stay in a position like this for much longer.
Oleg Alekseev's cut is getting worse.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Alekseev wants to hold on but Kenny pushes him away.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Oleg Alekseev will probably get the nod.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Kenny shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Kenny was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
You can see the frustration on Alekseev's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
