PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Bart Havensbee (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mike Hunt (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Havensbee comes into the arena with Bring 'em Out blaring out of the sound system. Mike Hunt will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Bart Havensbee!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Mike Hunt!
The judges for this bout are Dirk Anderson, Santiago Holmes and Bart Greer.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hunt tries to clinch
and Havensbee makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.
Hunt tries to clinch but fails miserably

and Havensbee counters by clinching up.
Havensbee is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.
Havensbee is trying to pull guard but Hunt has him pressed against the cage.
Knees in the clinch landing for Hunt.

Havensbee's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Havensbee circles away from the clinch attempt.
Havensbee throws a body kick but he was well out of range there.

Havensbee rushes Hunt and presses him up against the cage.
We've been informed that Hunt has been sparring a lot of Muay Thai in the buildup to this fight so let's see if that has an impact on the result.
Hunt tries to land a knee to the head but Havensbee blocks with his arms.
Hunt missing with knees to the body.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Hunt is looking to control Havensbee's arms but Havensbee gets an underhook and turns him. Now Hunt has his back to the cage.
Hunt throws a knee to the head but misses.
Hunt scores with a shot to the side of Havensbee's head.

Havensbee breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Hunt tries to clinch up

and Havensbee counters with a nice double leg into side control. Hunt won't be happy with that.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.
Havensbee throwing shots but missing, from side control.
Hunt is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Hunt is letting Havensbee control him for a moment.

Havensbee decides to stand back up.
Hunt tries to clinch

and Havensbee counters with a takedown into side control! That could mean trouble for Hunt!
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Hunt manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu!

Hunt missing with some ground and pound from the half guard.
Havensbee gets full guard.
Havensbee definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
Havensbee is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
Hunt postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Havensbee knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Hunt on the ground.

Hunt is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Hunt trying to control but Havensbee is working from the bottom.
Havensbee working a defensive guard here.
Havensbee pulls Hunt in close to prevent any damage.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Havensbee looking for a guillotine here but Hunt defends easily.
Hunt wants to control from the top but Havensbee keeps moving.
Havensbee looking to control but Hunt passes into half guard.
Havensbee has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Hunt is working away from the top position though.
Havensbee on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Havensbee tries to get out of the position.
Havensbee is staying active underneath Hunt, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
Hunt seems to have lost interest with the ground game and is thinking about standing back up.

Hunt throwing shots but Havensbee is blocking nicely.
Hunt is keen to just control but Havensbee is a slippery customer.
Havensbee is looking to escape.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.

Hunt seems like he's working for an arm triangle here. He's freed his trapped foot and he's rotating nicely. Havensbee is in big trouble! He's tapping out! This one is aaaaaaaaaaaall over!
