Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Nigel Diaz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mirko Magnus (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters really staring each other down here, as Mirko Magnus enters the cage!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
7 - 4 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Nigel Diaz! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
6 - 4 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Mirko Magnus! The judges for this bout are Michael Johnstone, Dirk Anderson and Winston Alpacca.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Diaz displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Magnus throws out the jab. Magnus ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face. Diaz throws a jab when Magnus was well out of range. Diaz moves out of range of the strikes. Magnus staying out of range there. Diaz jabs Magnus right on the nose. Magnus blinks but takes it well. Magnus looking to take his opponent's legs away with the low kicks.
Magnus steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Diaz. Magnus is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Diaz. Magnus ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face. Magnus takes one to the side of the head.
Diaz swings widly with a right hand
and Magnus counters with a good low kick that Diaz was not able to check. A jab from Diaz misses. Magnus delivers a nice body kick. Diaz throws out a powerful jab.
Magnus is rocked! The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Diaz takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.
Magnus is still on wobbly legs! Can Diaz finish him? Magnus throws a hook but Diaz blocks it. Magnus blocks a jab. Magnus throws a solid leg kick but Diaz takes the impact on his shin and smiles at Magnus. Magnus throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd. Magnus seems to have recovered his senses. Diaz slips a jab from Magnus.
That's one minute gone in the round. Diaz ducks under a wild hook from Magnus. Diaz misses with a hook. Diaz slips a straight right by Magnus. Diaz waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Magnus. Diaz throws a body punch but Magnus moves out of range. Diaz misses with a straight right. Diaz avoids the head kick by Magnus.
Magnus takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it. Magnus tries to land a front kick but Diaz steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed. Diaz looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight. Magnus avoids the body shot from Diaz.

and Diaz counters with a stiff right hand. Magnus misses with a straight right. Magnus fakes a jab and scores with a low kick. Diaz checks a low kick. Bone on bone - not my idea of a good time. Magnus fakes a jab and throws a low kick but Diaz checks it well. Diaz avoids the head kick by Magnus.
Magnus avoids a lazy jab quite easily. Diaz misses with an uppercut. Magnus saw that one coming. Diaz is really head hunting here, hardly looking to strike to the body at all. Magnus tries a head kick but it misses.
Magnus looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Magnus steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Diaz. Diaz lands with a nice body punch. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Magnus throws a quick head kick that skims the top of Diaz's head. Diaz throws a jab when Magnus was well out of range. Magnus misses with a hook. An inside leg kick from Magnus misses. Diaz looks to land a left hand but Magnus moved out of range nicely. Diaz moves out of range of the body kick from Magnus.
Diaz lands a nice shot that snaps Magnus's head back.

Magnus gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Diaz. Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Magnus. Diaz avoids the head kick by Magnus.
Magnus misses with a leg kick. Diaz uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Magnus. Diaz sizes up Magnus with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Diaz checks a leg kick. Diaz misses with a two punch combination.
Diaz throws a jab but it's blocked by Magnus. Diaz takes a head kick and shrugs it off.
The fighters circling - Diaz throws out the jab but it was never going to land. Diaz slips under a jab. Diaz lands a big right hand that sends Magnus crashing to the mat! Diaz stays standing though and waves Magnus back to his feet! The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Magnus tries to score with a leg kick but it misses it's target. Diaz avoids a lazy jab quite easily. Diaz swings for the body but Magnus moves out of range.

Diaz throws out a token jab with nothing on it. Magnus fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.

Magnus wants to land a leg kick but Diaz is out of range.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A jab from Magnus finds it's way through Diaz's defenses. Magnus is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. Magnus wants to slow Diaz down by chopping away at his legs. Diaz misses with a series of wild punches.

Magnus scores with a slapping inside leg kick. Diaz lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.
Magnus lands a leg kick that knocks Diaz off balance momentarily. Magnus lands with a nice body kick. Mirko Magnus seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Magnus misses with a looping left. Magnus scores with a spinning back kick! A punch combination from Diaz misses. Magnus scores with a nice head shot. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Magnus connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there. Magnus throws a leg kick but he was too far away and it doesn't land. Diaz throws a right hand that Magnus ducks under and follows up with a left that Magnus also avoids with ease. Magnus defending well as Diaz loads up on a big left hand. Diaz lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Nigel Diaz dominated that round. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!

You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Diaz. Magnus keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Diaz. Magnus shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down. Diaz misses with a straight right. Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Magnus, as that shot connected.
Magnus jabs Diaz to the body, keeping him at a distance. Diaz jabbing away but nothing is landing. Magnus bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes. Diaz avoids a kick to the body.
Diaz moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross. Diaz cracks Magnus with a big right hand that sends him to the floor! Magnus looks wobbly but he's sprung back up to his feet straight away… can Diaz finish him?
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Magnus misses with a body shot.
That's one minute gone in the round. Magnus moves out of range of the strikes. The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as Diaz checks a leg kick. Diaz staying out of range there. Magnus lands a head kick!
Magnus throws a leg kick which misses Diaz's front leg but catches the back leg as Diaz tries to avoid it. Diaz connects with a single shot there. Diaz steps in with a hook that catches Magnus right on the chin and knocks him to the floor! Diaz follows him down with more strikes and that's all she wrote! Magnus looks absolutely devastated.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:30 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Nigel Diaz! After the fight, Nigel Diaz was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
