Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Oscar Jellymold! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Roy Jones! The judges for this bout are Steve Erwin, Skip Squint and Eliza Hachem.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Jones throws a leg kick which misses Jellymold's front leg but catches the back leg as Jellymold tries to avoid it. Jones shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Jellymold's guard. Jellymold working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Jones. Jones throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Jellymold works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Jellymold looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it. Both fighters really going for it on the ground here! Jellymold looking to hit a scissor sweep but Jones is one step ahead there. Jellymold utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. Jones preventing the sweep. Jellymold bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Jones's guard. Jones working for a triangle but Jellymold defends it easily.
Our spies down at at Cozad MMA Sydney inform us that Jones has really been working on his submissions in the buildup to this fight. Will it pay off? Jones has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Jellymold can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Jellymold got a little sloppy there for a moment and Jones has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Jellymold has managed to get both his arms back between Jones's legs - danger averted.

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Jellymold thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas. Jellymold is figuring out what he wants to do next. Jellymold missing with some ground and pound from the half guard. Jellymold trying to control from half guard but Jones is working away. Jones has managed to escape just enough to sneak back to his feet but Jellymold is on him like a limpet, forcing Jones back against the cage.

That was a close second round but I would say that Oscar Jellymold will probably get the nod. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.

Oscar Jellymold has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Roy Jones. Jones has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Jellymold. Jones tries to land a front kick but Jellymold steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed. Jones tries a low kick but Jellymold avoids it. Jellymold slaps away a takedown attempt from Jones, before circling back to the center of the mat. Jones fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. Jellymold keeps Jones at a distance using the push kick. Jones keeps the fight on the outside. Jellymold throws out a powerful jab.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Jones closes the distance but Jellymold moves to the side and Jellymold counters with a nice low kick that buckles Jones's knee momentarily. Jellymold attempts a leg kick but it's missed by a good margin. Jones swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
A low kick from Jones misses and Jellymold counters with a body kick that brings a smile to the face of both fighters. Jones pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way. Jellymold fails in his attempt to clinch. Jellymold connects with an inside leg kick. Roy Jones seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Jones avoids the clinch attempt nicely.

Nice work there - in and out in a flash.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Jellymold checks a low kick from Jones. Jones tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
And that's the end of the fight! Oscar Jellymold showed his dominance in that final round. Well Jellymold has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
