Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
7 - 2 - 1, fighting out of The Island, Dick Jeggins! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
7 - 3 - 1, fighting out of The Island, Gwan Dylan! The judges for this bout are Bart Greer, Dirk Anderson and Peter Branson.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Dylan fails in his attempt to clinch. Dylan has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout. Dylan forces Jeggins back against the cage and clinches. Dylan stalling in the clinch but Jeggins improves position. Dylan misses with some punches.
Dylan is struggling to control the position. Dylan is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. Jeggins is trying to slow down the pace of the fight but Dylan is keeping busy. Dylan lands punches inside but they're not really causing much damage. Jeggins is trying to maintain a safe position but Dylan gets an underhook and turns Jeggins into the cage. Dylan lands a hook to the body. It's hard to tell if that hurt Jeggins or not. Jeggins looking to slow down the pace here. Dylan is looking to take this one to the mat. Jeggins looking to stall.
Jeggins can't seem to implement his control oriented gameplan at the moment. That's no bad thing of course, for those of us who want to see a good fight. The ref breaks the fighters up, due to lack of action by Dick Jeggins. Jeggins gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Dylan counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Dylan.
That's one minute gone in the round. Dylan tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Jeggins's elbow. Dylan struggles to land a body shot inside as Jeggins controls his hands.
Dylan misses with some punches.
Dylan tries to work over Jeggins's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target. Dylan swings wildly with an uppercut but Jeggins uses good head movement to avoid it. Dylan throws a head punch that misses. Dylan lands a nice trip takedown into half guard.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up. Jeggins is looking for a sweep. Dylan is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Dylan is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Jeggins is just riding it out for now. Dylan eventually gives up the hold. Jeggins gets back to full guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Jeggins is working hard here to advance position. Jeggins keeping moving, preventing Dylan from controlling successfully. Jeggins is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Dylan stays in close to Jeggins's body and controls the position. Dylan throws an elbow that misses. Jeggins uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Dylan's guard. Nice move by Jeggins! Jeggins postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Dylan is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Jeggins, into his guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Jeggins working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Dylan doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Dylan manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Jeggins is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Jeggins is trying to control the position from the bottom.

Dylan tries to free his leg and advance position but Jeggins is retaining full guard. Jeggins looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Jeggins is looking to sweep but instead, Dylan has passed into half guard.
Dylan wants to take a breather but Jeggins is having none of it. Dylan prevents Jeggins from improving his position. Dylan not landing any meaningful shots this time. Jeggins tries to get to full guard but Dylan has control of the leg. Dylan wants to work for an arm triangle but Jeggins is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Jeggins gets full guard. Dylan throws a strike but Jeggins rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close round but Gwan Dylan will probably get the nod. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!
Jeggins walks into a straight right hand from Dylan. Dylan has a takedown stuffed. Jeggins shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Dylan pinned against the cage. Dylan gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. Jeggins uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Dylan.
That's one minute gone in the round. Dylan scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent. Jeggins with a lazy takedown attempt and Dylan counters into the clinch. Nicely done. Jeggins is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but Dylan is defending well. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Dick Jeggins. That's going to take a lot out of him. Good anti-grappling being displayed by Dylan as Jeggins tries to tie him up. Dylan misses with a body punch.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Dylan has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Jeggins avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Jeggins trying to control but Dylan postures up.

Gwan Dylan showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

That could spell trouble for Dylan! Dylan takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Jeggins working to secure an arm triangle but it's not happening for him just yet.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Jeggins lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.
Jeggins is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Dylan can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.
Jeggins is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But Dylan has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from Dylan! Jeggins pushes a forearm under Dylan's chin to create some space. He's escaped his hips and pivoted quickly for an armbar! Can he extend the arm? Yes, Dylan is tapping out! Damn, that was fast!
