Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Vanapa Animai (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jesus Ramirez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Animai might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Here comes the hotstepper. Ramirez is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Joyenergizer. The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
15 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Vanapa Animai! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Jesus Ramirez! The judges for this bout are Alec Ball, Robert Douchet and Dillan Fox.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Ramirez defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Animai. Animai throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Ramirez's waist but Ramirez gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Animai off to one side. Ramirez pushing out the jab but it's not landing. Animai shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Ramirez as he jumps to the side. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Vanapa Animai. That's going to take a lot out of him. Animai dodges the punch combination from Ramirez.
Animai needs to keep his hands up - Ramirez had a free shot at his head there. Animai throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Ramirez's waist but Ramirez gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Animai off to one side. Ramirez connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Animai shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. Ramirez has worked on his takedown defense in the runup to this fight and it is paying off so far. No luck with that takedown attempt from Animai. Animai works the jab nicely. Animai shoots in for a double leg but Ramirez sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. Animai darts in looking for a takedown but Ramirez gets double underhooks and turns Animai into the cage. Animai prevents Ramirez from breaking the clinch. Ramirez tries to circle away but Animai has him pinned against the cage.
That's one minute gone in the round. Animai has Ramirez pressed against the cage, preventing Ramirez from circling away and getting back to striking at range. Animai throws a punch but it's blocked by Ramirez. Ramirez has had enough of the clinch but Animai keeps him there for the moment. Ramirez pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Vanapa Animai seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Animai misses with a takedown attempt - Ramirez sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. Animai shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Ramirez as he jumps to the side. Ramirez will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Animai shoots for a double leg takedown but Ramirez sprawls well. He's pushed Animai's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Ramirez connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Animai momentarily.
Oooooh!!! Ramirez has knocked Animai down with a huge combo! Ramirez steps away and waves a wobbly Animai back to his feet! This one might not go much longer!

It looks like Vanapa Animai has been cut. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Animai shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Ramirez's guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Animai looking to pass the guard. Animai thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. Ramirez trying to control the position.
Animai pushing down on Ramirez's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work. Animai is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Ramirez is just riding it out for now. Animai eventually gives up the hold. Animai is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Animai is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Ramirez has managed to free his arm - good work.

Animai is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there. Animai is working for a submission here. He's got hold of the far side arm and he's looking for a kimura. He's cranking on the arm and he's got it! Ramirez is tapping out! Ouch, that looked like it hurt!
