The judges for this bout are Valeri Chadov, Ivan Kurochkin and Konstantin Menshow.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Weber moves into range and clinches up with Goronov.
Weber leaning against his opponent.
Weber manages to break the clinch.
Goronov closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Weber wants to control but Goronov postures up.
Goronov wants to lay and pray for a moment but Weber keeps working.
Weber regains half guard.
Goronov looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Weber is trying to stand back up but Goronov is controlling him
Weber is doing well to avoid being mounted. He's controlling the position at the moment.

Weber is refusing to be controlled, as Goronov sits in half guard.

Goronov might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Weber haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.

Goronov is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Weber is just riding it out for now. Goronov eventually gives up the hold.

Weber postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Goronov is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Weber, into his guard.

Goronov throws a big shot that misses.
Weber gets caught napping as Goronov dives in and scores a takedown. Weber manages to retain guard.
Weber looking to hit a scissor sweep but Goronov is one step ahead there.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Goronov is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Weber is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Weber has escaped and now he's on top!

Weber's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

I would just about give that final round to Ivan Goronov.
