Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Owen Orwell (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Nobero Shimasaki (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Orwell might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Nuclear. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Owen Orwell!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Nobero Shimasaki!
The judges for this bout are Alan Glass, Frank Dennis and Stewart Dunkirk.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Shimasaki defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Orwell.
Shimasaki scores with a leg kick.
Shimasaki closes the distance but Orwell moves to the side

so Orwell counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
Orwell with a flurry of punches that miss.
Orwell wants to control from the top but Shimasaki keeps moving.
Orwell tries to free his leg and advance position but Shimasaki is retaining full guard.

Orwell has gone for a leg lock! Shimasaki slips out almost immediately though and dives into Orwell's guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Shimasaki wants to control from the top but Orwell keeps moving.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Orwell is on top in guard.

Shimasaki manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Orwell manages to get himself to full guard.

Shimasaki has found himself in a tricky position here. He's been working his transitions in training so let's see if he can work his way out of it.

Orwell moves into side control, trying to work for a kimura. That looks painful! Will he finish!!?? No, Shimasaki has worked his arm free - good work by Shimasaki!

Orwell is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Shimasaki knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
Orwell works to advance to full mount. Shimasaki defends for a few seconds but eventually he succumbs.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Orwell pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage.
Shimasaki can't escape the position.
Shimasaki is squirming around, avoiding Orwell's attempts to control the action.

Shimasaki takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position.
Orwell prevents Shimasaki from getting the reversal.

Orwell is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But Shimasaki has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from Shimasaki!

Orwell is looking for a triangle here but Shimasaki uses the submission attempt to pass into side control.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Shimasaki wants to control but Orwell is keeping him busy.
Orwell manages to get back to half guard.

The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Shimasaki lands a nice short elbow.

Shimasaki tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Orwell paws at him with a jab and circles away.

Orwell throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Shimasaki's waist but Shimasaki gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Orwell off to one side.
Shimasaki lands a nice looking body shot.
Shimasaki lands a leg kick that knocks Orwell off balance momentarily.

Shimasaki clinches up with Orwell and pushes him back against the cage.
Orwell tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Shimasaki smiles and moves away.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Owen Orwell. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Orwell working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Shimasaki doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Shimasaki manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Nobero Shimasaki hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.

Nobero Shimasaki showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. And we move into the final round!


Orwell tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Shimasaki swivels and escapes.

Orwell gets tackled into the cage by Shimasaki. Shimasaki maintains the clinch.
Shimasaki goes for a takedown attempt but Orwell pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Nice takedown defense from Shimasaki. No joy for Orwell on that attempt.

Orwell looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Shimasaki fakes a jab and scores with a low kick.

Orwell shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Shimasaki as he jumps to the side.

Shimasaki throws a body kick that sends a sickening thudding noise reverberating around the arena.
Nobero Shimasaki seems to be getting the better of the standup.

Shimasaki plants his feet and lands a nice head kick!
Shimasaki lands three nice shots there - that looked like it hurt!

Orwell gets tackled into the cage by Shimasaki. Shimasaki maintains the clinch.

It looks like Owen Orwell has been cut.
Orwell jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Shimasaki walks away with a smile on his face. Orwell gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Orwell dives in and grabs Shimasaki's left leg, looking for a takedown. Shimasaki pushes down on Orwell's head and hops out.

Shimasaki gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here.

Shimasaki is edging up against the cage. He's using the cage to get back to his feet. Nice work there - the fighters are clinched.

Orwell tries to score a body lock takedown but Shimasaki shows good agility there to stay on his feet.
Shimasaki is looking to take this one to the mat.
Orwell changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Shimasaki fights it off and pushes away nicely.

Orwell gets tackled into the cage by Shimasaki. Shimasaki maintains the clinch.
Orwell has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Shimasaki is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.
Orwell tries to score a body lock takedown but Shimasaki shows good agility there to stay on his feet.
Kneeeeees! The crowd are calling for knees to the body. Shimasaki obliges.

Shimasaki breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Shimasaki throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Orwell on the side of the head.

Orwell on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.
Shimasaki tries to close the distance and clinch but Orwell swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

Shimasaki moves into the clinch successfully.

Shimasaki breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Shimasaki explodes with a nice body kick and back out of range. Nice work.
Shimasaki misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Shimasaki tries to bum rush Orwell with a series of wild strikes but Orwell uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
The crowd cheers as Shimasaki lands an impressive looking overhand right. Orwell doesn't seem phased though.
Shimasaki lands a jab to the nose.
Shimasaki lands a nice leg kick that just misses Orwell's sensitive parts.
Shimasaki lands a big head kick that sends Orwell to the canvas! Shimasaki follows up with strikes from the mount that forces the ref to step in and stop the fight!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:59 of round 3, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Nobero Shimasaki!
Nobero Shimasaki really struggled to get his t-shirt on before his hand was raised. Making sure that Kore Fight Nutrition [TG] logo gets some air time is pretty tricky when you're all sweaty.
