Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Stone Flail (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Sergio Pettis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Flail might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Check Yourself Before You Wreck Yourself by Ice Cube. Stone Flail has a significant reach advantage - let's see if he can make it count.

And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Sergio Pettis!
The judges for this bout are John Roberts, Dean Styles and Columbo Gatti.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Flail throws the kick towards the body but Pettis avoids it.
We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Pettis has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.
Flail with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.
Flail stuffs the takedown.
Flail throws a mid kick that lands with a slap.
Flail connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.
Flail leaves Pettis with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Pettis moves out of range as Flail throws a body kick.
A slapping leg kick lands for Flail.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Flail moves into range and lands a nice leg kick.
Pettis looks winded!

Flail clinches up with Pettis and pushes him back against the cage.

It looks like Sergio Pettis has been cut.

Flail drops Pettis with a big knee straight up the middle! Pettis is covering up against the cage but manages to escape and gets back to his feet!

Flail turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Stone Flail is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

We've been told by Flail's head coaches at Valhalla:NY GYM that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.

Flail thuds a mid kick into his opponent's body. That will wear on Pettis if he has to take too many more of those.
Pettis has developed a nice purple lump on his ribcage, as a result of some heavy body kicks from Flail.

Flail maintains plum control as Pettis tries to back straight out! Flail connects with one knee! Two knees! Three, four, five, six...seven unasnwered knees! Pettis blocks the eight but eats the ninth - then collapses! Oh the brutality!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:36 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Knees). Stone Flail!
