Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Brock Coleman! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Adrian Johnson! The judges for this bout are Cecil Peabody, Wesley Smith and Stewart Dunkirk.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Johnson misses with a body shot
and Coleman counters with a shoot takedown. Johnson fights it but they end up in guard. Coleman is pushing down on Johnson's leg trying to pass to half guard. Johnson is fighting to maintain full guard but Coleman has managed to sneak the leg through. Coleman trying to control the action but Johnson is working from the bottom. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Johnson can do anything to dispel that myth. Coleman thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas. Coleman wants to control but Johnson is keeping him busy. Coleman throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man. The fighters are battling for position here. Johnson manages to regain full guard. Nice work. Johnson is trying to control the position but Coleman postures up. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Coleman chips away with some ground and pound. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Johnson is trying to control the position from the bottom.

That's one minute gone in the round. Johnson with a flurry of punches that miss. Johnson throwing strikes from guard but Coleman blocks nicely. Johnson showing good wrestling skills to control the position. Coleman is trying to control the position from the bottom.

Adrian Johnson has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet. Coleman misses with a takedown attempt - Johnson sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. Coleman shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Johnson but Johnson pushes him off and we're back to square one.

Coleman has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance. Johnson is looking to regain half guard here but Coleman keeps moving and retains side control. An elbow from Coleman crashes against the mat.
Johnson parries the strikes from Coleman easily there. Coleman is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Johnson to escape.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Johnson takes a big shot right to the temple there but he's taken it well.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Coleman throws an elbow but Johnson slips to the side and avoids it well. Johnson tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Coleman wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control. Coleman creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Johnson sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike. Johnson takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better. Coleman throws a knee to the body but it doesn't do much damage. Johnson is trying to get back to half guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Johnson struggling a bit here. Johnson dodges the ground and pound from Coleman. Johnson gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard. Johnson moves into full guard.
Johnson is adopting a defensive guard. Coleman trying to control the position from guard on top but Johnson is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Coleman is looking to work some ground and pound but Johnson has wrist control.

Coleman decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard. Coleman not landing any meaningful shots this time. Johnson is trying to get back to full guard. He's hooked one of Coleman's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Coleman's back! Johnson looking to break Coleman's wrist control so he can sink in the choke. That's four minutes gone in the round. Johnson is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Coleman doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Johnson. Coleman is looking for a sweep. Johnson is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Johnson connects with a nice short shot to Coleman's temple. Johnson sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Coleman defending well though. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Johnson seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Coleman does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back. Coleman gets full guard. Adrian Johnson showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! Let's get this one finished - here comes the final round!
Nice takedown defense from Johnson. No joy for Coleman on that attempt. Coleman will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. Johnson takes a swing at Coleman's ribcage but misses. Johnson closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Coleman quickly recovers to half guard. Johnson takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position. Johnson is looking to stall here but Coleman recovers full guard. Johnson chips away with some ground and pound. Johnson throws an elbow that misses. Coleman uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Johnson's guard. Nice move by Coleman! Johnson looking to hit a scissor sweep but Coleman is one step ahead there. Coleman stands up over Johnson, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.

Johnson missing with the ground and pound from half guard. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Coleman gets full guard. Coleman manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!

And that's the end of the fight! That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Brock Coleman. I think Coleman has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
