Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Klaxon Karman (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Steve Simon (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Karman comes to the ring accompanied by Smooth Criminal. The crowd seem to be enjoying Simon's choice of entrance music: Down With The Sickness. Steve Simon will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Klaxon Karman! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
4 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Steve Simon! The judges for this bout are Arvi Lind, Roosa Järviläinen and Matti Vanhoillinen.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Karman tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Karman tries to clinch up. Simon throws a head kick that misses. Karman drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard. Karman throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Karman wants to pass the guard but Simon is keeping the position. Karman trying to control the position from guard on top but Simon is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Karman wants to pass the guard but Simon is keeping the position. Karman drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Simon dives on top into guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Simon prevents Karman from getting back to his feet. The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves. Simon advances position into side control! Simon working away. Karman holds on to Simon's head and controls the position momentarily. Karman tries to contro but end up mounted... ooooh, that's bad.
That's two minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Karman regains half guard. Karman is pressing down on Simon's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it. Simon wants to get up but he can't break Karman's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here. Karman throwing some rather feeble looking strikes off his back.

Karman is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Karman is looking to stand up but Simon isn't so interested in that idea.

Simon must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Karman controlling Simon's posture. Simon thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. Karman has a butterfly guard looking to sweep but Simon has passed into side control.
Simon wants to stand but Karman is controlling his arm.
That's four minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Simon is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Karman has escaped the position, nice work there.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Karman shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Karman showed some decent athleticism there. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Karman wants to pass to mount but Simon is defending the position. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Klaxon Karman dominated that round. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.
Karman moves in looking to clinch but Simon pushes him off. Nice takedown defense from Simon. No joy for Karman on that attempt. Karman swats away the attempt to clinch by Simon. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Simon misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
That's one minute gone in the round. Karman fails with a takedown attempt from distance. Simon steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Karman. Simon tries to clinch but fails miserably so Karman counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility. Karman throws and elbow that misses. Simon uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Karman's guard. Nice move by Simon! Simon trying to control the position from guard on top but Karman is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Karman wants to sweep here but Simon controlling him for the moment.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Karman wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now. Karman is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. Simon is not content to let Karman control the position. Simon is trying to stand up here but Karman is controlling him well. Simon is refusing to be controlled, as Karman sits in half guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Simon wants to get back to full guard. Karman wants to work for an arm triangle but Simon is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Karman is looking for a kimura. It's pretty deep but Simon still has the half guard so he's probably OK. Oh, Simon has exploded into a beautiful escape there and after a quick scramble, he's ended up in side control on top! Nice work! Karman sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Simon is trying to work for a kimura. He's got his hands clasped together - this could be trouble! No, Karman has managed to free his arm - good work. Simon passes into side control, despite Karman's attempt to control the position.

Karman manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu! The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Karman stalling. Karman trying to mount his opponent but Simon defends it. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Klaxon Karman dominated that second round. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. Let's get this one finished - here comes the final round!
Karman closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Simon to the mat! Simon manages to get full guard. Karman trying to control the position from guard on top but Simon is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Karman is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Simon is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him. Simon working a defensive guard here.
Karman gets to his feet. Simon looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!
That's one minute gone in the round. Karman fails with a takedown attempt from distance. Simon pushes Karman up against the ropes in a clinch. Karman fails to pull the fight into his guard.
Karman drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Simon gets the underhooks and prevents it.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Klaxon Karman. That's going to take a lot out of him. Karman gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Simon.
Simon stalls.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Simon is trying to slow down the pace in the clinch, to catch his breath. Karman avoids a wild elbow strike from Simon. Karman tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Simon smiles and moves away.

Klaxon Karman overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Karman not throwing his punches with enough precision this time. Karman works his way into side control. Simon manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu!
That's four minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. The fighters are battling for position here. Karman manages to regain full guard. Nice work. Karman is trying to control the position from the bottom.

Steve Simon has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Klaxon Karman is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Simon takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Karman looking to control and managing it successfully. Karman swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Simon is now in Karman's guard. A big mistake from Karman there, giving up the dominant position!
And that's the end of the fight! Klaxon Karman showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Karman, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
