Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Orion Cook (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Katsu Laoka (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Laoka comes into a darkened arena with his song building. The Bell Tolls kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 21 - 14 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Orion Cook!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Katsu Laoka!
The judges for this bout are Columbo Gatti, Lou da Vinci and Alyssa Summers.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Laoka does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.
Laoka thows a body kick. Cook tries to catch it but that hurt him.

Laoka closes the distance and clinches.

Cook has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed Laoka clear over his head and slammed him to the mat!
Cook punches the canvas rather than the man.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Laoka covering up well under a barage of strikes.

That's time! Cook's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.

Laoka moves into range and clinches up with Cook.
Cook has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Laoka is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.
Cook on the defensive, avoiding the knees to the body.

Cook drops down looking for an ankle pick but Laoka pulls his leg out and moves away.

Laoka looks to score with a jab to the body but Cook is just out of range.
Laoka lands with a kick to the temple. Cook shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?"
Cook blocks a low kick nicely.
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Laoka, as that shot connected.
Laoka attempts a low kick but it misses it's target.

Laoka has managed to clinch.

Cook has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Laoka regains guard immediately.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Cook is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.

Cook with a flurry of punches that miss.
Laoka is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.
Cook postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Laoka is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Orion Cook overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Cook throws a strike but Laoka rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Cook working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Laoka doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Laoka manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Katsu Laoka showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!

Cook tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Laoka smiles and moves away.

Laoka lunges at Cook with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Cook's hand.

Laoka fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Cook.

Laoka manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu!

Cook is looking to get back to full guard here but Laoka has managed to pass to side control instead.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Cook tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Laoka wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Katsu Laoka comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Laoka has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
