15 - 5 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Luis Chalas! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
13 - 7 - 1, fighting out of Los Angeles, Niko Rosenberg! The judges for this bout are Jeff Smith, Chris Saunders and Roger Salmon.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Chalas shoots in for a takedown but Rosenberg shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. Chalas blocks a head kick by Rosenberg.
Chalas fails with a takedown attempt from distance. Rosenberg pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Rosenberg lands a nice hook to Chalas's body. Chalas takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes. Rosenberg is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Chalas. Rosenberg moves into the clinch successfully.

Chalas tries to pull guard but Rosenberg holds him up against the cage and eventually Chalas drops back down to his feet.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Luis Chalas. That's going to take a lot out of him. Chalas wants a takedown but no success here.
Rosenberg lands an elbow inside that Chalas shrugs off.
It looks like Luis Chalas has been cut. Chalas tries to land knees in the clinch but Rosenberg avoids the damage to the body. Rosenberg throws an elbow but it's blocked.

Chalas tries to score a body lock takedown but Rosenberg shows good agility there to stay on his feet. Rosenberg gets an overhook and lands an elbow to the side of the head.
That's one minute gone in the round. Rosenberg pushes off and fires off an elbow that misses, before clinching up again, against the cage. Rosenberg manages to get underhooks and slows down the pace for a moment.
Chalas takes an elbow to the temple. Rosenberg scores with a shoulder strike. Rosenberg gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Chalas.
With the two fighters working up against the cage, Rosenberg just misses with a elbow thrown towards Chalas's brow. Rosenberg lands a hook to the side of the head. With the fighters up against the cage, Rosenberg throws an elbow but misses. Rosenberg taking a break, stalling in the clinch.
Chalas is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Rosenberg pulls him back up using the underhooks. Chalas is looking to take this one to the mat. Chalas blocks the elbow strike.

Chalas has Rosenberg pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Rosenberg manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing. Chalas tries for a takedown but Rosenberg manages to get underhooks.

Rosenberg lands a nice elbow from the clinch. Chalas tightens his grip and picks Rosenberg up, before dumping him to the ground. Rosenberg manages to land in guard. Chalas wants to control from the top but Rosenberg keeps moving. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Rosenberg has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Chalas can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Rosenberg has a loose triangle. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Chalas postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Chalas preventing the sweep. Chalas trying to control but Rosenberg is working from the bottom. Chalas working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. Chalas wants to control from the top but Rosenberg keeps moving. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Rosenberg working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Chalas. Chalas doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Chalas manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Rosenberg manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Chalas regains half guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Niko Rosenberg dominated that round. The cut man is working on Luis Chalas's cut. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!
Good shot there by Rosenberg. Rosenberg throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Chalas stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly. A punch combination from Rosenberg misses. Chalas ducks under a wild hook from Rosenberg. Rosenberg cracks Chalas with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd.
Chalas is rocked! Chalas avoids the head kick by Rosenberg.
Oh Chalas is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!! Rosenberg closes the distance and lands a one-two.
Luis Chalas's cut is getting worse. Chalas tries to clinch up. Rosenberg throws a looping overhand right but Chalas ducks down to avoid it. A big right followed by a crushing left from Rosenberg knocks Chalas out cold! Ouch - that one's going to be featured in highlight reels for years to come!
