Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, for the heavyweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
18 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Mario Fry!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Warren Peace!
The judges for this bout are Colin Fray, Paul Gruel and Jeff Smith.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Both fighters are only really looking to counter, so after a good 30 seconds of circling eachother endlessly, the referee has stepped in and told them both to be more aggressive.
Fry tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Fry throws a right high kick that is partially blocked by Peace.
It looks like Warren Peace has been cut.
Peace is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Fry.
Fry gets in close and instigates a clinch.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Fry lands an elbow inside.
Peace blocks the elbow strike.
Fry prevents a takedown attempt there.
Peace drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Fry gets an overhook and lands an elbow to the side of the head.
Fry landing knees to the head.
Fry drops Peace with a big knee straight up the middle! Peace is covering up against the cage but manages to escape and gets back to his feet!
Peace is rocked!
Peace looks winded!
This has been an exciting period of action!
Peace shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Fry counters with a hugh head kick that removes Peace from consiousness! A brutal head kick knockout!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:47 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Head Kick). Mario Fry!
Mario Fry is the new heavyweight champion!
Mario Fry very nearly forgot to thank Cage Star amongst all the excitement of his win but just as the interview came to a close, he screamed their name. Hopefully he'll get a few nice freebies in the mail as a thank you.
