PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Yuuto Itou (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Vic Vader (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Vader comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Burn It To The Ground kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! This should be fireworks!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Yuuto Itou!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Vic Vader!
The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, Timothy Bukovac and Jack Bonds.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Vader shoots for a double leg takedown but Itou sprawls well. He's pushed Vader's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Vader shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Itou napping and manages to drive through into side control!
Itou is positioning himself to get back to half guard.

Vader decides to stand back up.
Itou dips down and scores with a jab to the body.

Vader scores with a takedown into Itou's guard.
Itou utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Itou is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Vader slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

That's one minute gone in the round.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.

Vader drops back looking for a leg! Itou is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Itou manages to kick Vader off! Vader jumps back into Itou's guard.
Itou knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Vader on the ground.
Vader is pushing down on Itou's leg trying to pass to half guard. Itou is fighting to maintain full guard but Vader has managed to sneak the leg through.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Vader passes the guard and advances to mount!

Vader looking for a guillotine from mount but Itou is having none of it.

Vader is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Itou has managed to escape the submission attempt.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Itou tries to lock up and control but Vader gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Vader working for a submission here. He's tucked his head under his opponent's arm, looking for an arm triangle. He's hopped off into side control, looking to tighten the submission... is it going to work? He's given up a good position looking for it. Itou looks OK. Oh, I spoke too soon, he's out! That must have been tighter than I thought! Excellent work there by Vader! Submission of the night perhaps?
