PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Carlos Massa (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Europha Emanuel (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Emanuel has chosen I'm Not Jesus - Apocalyptica as his entrance music. I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Europha Emanuel was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Massa shoots in and bounces Emanuel off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
Massa is looking to stand up but Emanuel won't let him.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Emanuel wants to sweep but no luck.
Emanuel is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
Emanuel looking to pass the half guard. Not this time.
Massa on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Massa tries to get out of the position.
Still in half guard, Emanuel seems content to control.
Massa is trying to stand back up but Emanuel is controlling him
Emanuel is pressing down on Massa's thigh, looking to free his foot. Massa is holding on for now.

Emanuel is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Massa pulls out of a head kick attempt.
A punch lands to the side of Massa 's head but he takes it in his stride.

Nice sprawl there from Emanuel as Massa shoots in.
Nice uppercut there from Emanuel.
A slow jab from Emanuel misses its intended target.
Europha Emanuel is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Emanuel fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Massa manages to avoid it.
Massa uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Emanuel.
The fight stays on the outside here - Emanuel looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Emanuel throws a shot from downtown. Massa moves away and avoids it.
Massa moves away from the strike by Emanuel.
Massa throws a head kick that misses.
Emanuel takes a swing at Massa's ribcage but misses.

Emanuel has managed to clinch.
Emanuel using the Thai clinch to land knees to the body.

Massa escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Emanuel thows a left - swing and a miss!
A lazy left from Emanuel finds it's target.
Massa is breathing heavily.
Emanuel will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Massa takes a shot to the body in his stride.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Massa takes a body punch but keeps moving.
Emanuel drops Massa with a straight right hand, right on the button! Emanuel follows him down to the mat and pounds him out with hammerfists until the referee jumps in to end the fight!
