Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Neil Down (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Wichael Mood (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Down has a slight injury, which hopefully won't affect the fight too much. Neil Down has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The judges for this bout are Chris Dean, Summer Carpenter and Ben Watson.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mood tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Down throws a jab but it's blocked by Mood.
Mood shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Mood shoots for a double leg takedown but Down sprawls well. He's pushed Mood's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Mood fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Neil Down has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Wichael Mood.
Down keeps the fight on the outside.
Down misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Mood.
A combination from Down does no damage.
Down is breathing heavily.
Down throws a nice looking combination but Mood bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.

Mood closes the distance and clinches up with Down, looking for a takedown. Mood pushes Down against the cage but Down circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Mood motions for Down to come forward. Mood throws a leg kick but it misses it's target.
Down throws a jab but it's blocked by Mood.
Mood changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Down tries to avoid it but Mood manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Down to the ground. Down escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Mood shoots in and drives through. Down sprawls well.

Down wants to get back to his feet but Mood is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
Down is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Mood defends well.

Down slaps away a takedown attempt from Mood, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Down blocks a head kick by Mood.
Down tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Mood was well out of range. Poor timing from Down.
This has been an exciting period of action!
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Down tries to bum rush Mood with a series of wild strikes but Mood uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Mood throws a series of punches but Down avoids them all with ease.

The fighters are starting to get sweaty, which will make takedowns a bit more tricky.

Mood is working for what looks like an arm triangle here. Down is trying to escape and Mood transitions quickly into an armbar! He's slapped it on tight and Down is forced to tap! Nice work there by Mood! Very nice indeed!
