Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Lazaro Burch (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Verkrachter Jan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Verkrachter Jan has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Lazaro Burch's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Lazaro Burch!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Verkrachter Jan!
The judges for this bout are Shirou Masuda, Shigeki Fujiwara and Yasuomi Hirokawa.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Burch tries to sprawl but Jan drives through with a takedown into half guard.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

Jan decides he's had enough of the ground and stands up.
Burch could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

Jan closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Burch did well to prevent Jan getting side control.
Burch might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Jan is keen to just control but Burch is a slippery customer.

Jan is working for a kimura but Burch is defending it quite comfortably.

Burch actively working from the bottom here.
Burch wants to control but Jan is keeping busy and won't allow it.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Burch tries to kick Jan off but Jan keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.

Jan seems to be working for a kimura but Burch defends the submission attempt.
Burch has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Jan is working away from the top position though.
Jan is looking to take a break and control but Burch is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Jan tries to stand but his hand is stuck under Burch.
Burch is trying to control but can't.
Jan missing with some ground and pound from the half guard.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Burch shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Jan as he jumps to the side.
Verkrachter Jan seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Jan throws a lazy head kick
and Burch counters with a straight right hand.
Jan misses with a lunging right hand
and Burch counters with a lovely straight right hand!

Jan closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

Burch prevents Jan from improving position.
Jan trying to control the action but Burch is working from the bottom.
Jan throwing ground and pound but whilst doing so, he forgets to control position and Burch works his way back to half guard. Good composure under pressure.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Jan is keen to just control but Burch is a slippery customer.

Jan stands, ready to strike. The ref makes him back up and allows Burch to get to his feet.
Jan looks winded!

Jan closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Burch quickly recovers to half guard.
Burch has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Jan is working away from the top position though.
Burch regains full guard, whilst avoiding punches from Jan.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Jan looking to sit in guard and control but Burch gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Verkrachter Jan dominated that round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.



Jan changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Burch looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

Jan is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Burch knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
Burch struggling a bit here.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Burch is not content to let Jan control the position.

Burch pushes Jan away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Jan gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.

Jan swings around for an armbar but Burch sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Jan's guard.
Burch wants to stand but Jan is controlling his posture from full guard.
Jan wants to sweep but no luck.
Burch trying to control but Jan is working from the bottom.
Jan preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.

Burch won't allow Jan to sweep him here.
Jan is breathing heavily.
Jan thows some rabbit punches from the bottom but they don't do any damage.

Burch gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.
Lazaro Burch is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Burch avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Jan misses with a hook.
Burch tries for a takedown but Jan sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Burch keeps the fight on the outside.

Jan shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Burch manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Jan wants to stand but Burch is controlling his posture from full guard.

Jan stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Burch swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Burch is looking for a triangle but Jan pushes his legs off easily.
Jan tries to free his leg and advance position but Burch is retaining full guard.

Burch looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Jan showing good wrestling skills to control the position.
Burch throwing strikes off his back to little effect.

Jan drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Burch manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Jan has Burch in his guard.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Burch wants to get up but he can't break Jan's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close second round but I would say that Lazaro Burch will probably get the nod.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!


Jan wants to clinch up but Burch keeps it at a distance.
Jan tries a head kick but it misses.

Burch shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Jan manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
Jan is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Jan really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Burch. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Burch tries to stand but Jan is controlling from the bottom.
Burch trying desperately to get back to his feet here but he's not having any joy at all. He's going to tire himself out if he's not careful.

Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Burch trying to control but Jan is working from the bottom.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Jan shoots in and gets a takedown into Burch's guard.
Jan slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
Jan pushes down on Burch's leg and manages to get into half guard.
Burch is not content to let Jan control the position.

Jan throws a strike but Burch avoids it easily and moves to full guard.
Jan stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Burch swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Jan throws a big elbow that misses.
Jan tries to stand but Burch is controlling from the bottom.
Jan must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Jan looking to sit in guard and control but Burch gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Jan goes for a cartwheel guard pass here but Burch does a handstand and catches Jan in mid air with a triangle! Could it be? It is! It's the triple decker pecker wrecker! The fighters land on the ground with Burch on top - Jan is already out from the submission! Burch gives Jan's pecker the obligatory post submission twist and this one is aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaall over! Are you kidding me! That is world class Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. That guy is my hero!
