Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Shael Connen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Danny Trejo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Danny Trejo has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Shael Connen's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
9 - 10 - 0, fighting out of London, Shael Connen! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
4 - 3 - 0, fighting out of London, Danny Trejo! The judges for this bout are William Gold, James Atkins and Phil Schofield.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Connen shoots in looking for a takedown. Trejo tries to sprawl out of it but Connen keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Trejo manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Trejo takes the fight into the clinch. Connen gets the body lock takedown. After a quick scramble, Trejo regains guard.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup. Connen trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Connen throwing strikes from guard but Trejo blocks nicely. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Connen drops back, looking for a kneebar! Trejo looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Trejo looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Trejo! Connen struggling a bit here.
That's one minute gone in the round. Connen sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard. Connen is controlling Trejo's trapped leg to prevent Trejo from advancing to side control.
The ref stands the fighters back up. Shael Connen wasn't doing enough on the ground. Connen shoots in but no luck this time.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Connen with a lazy takedown attempt and Trejo counters with a three punch combo that has Connen backing up. Connen nods at Trejo to acknowledge the strikes. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Shael Connen. That's going to take a lot out of him. Trejo throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Connen tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Trejo swivels and escapes. A swing and a miss from Trejo. Connen with a poor takedown and Trejo counters with a leg kick. Connen is looking to clinch but Trejo is avoiding it.
Trejo throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Connen tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Trejo is in Connen's guard. Trejo throwing strikes from guard but Connen blocks nicely. Connen is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up. Trejo is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.

The ref stands the fighters back up because Shael Connen just wasn't active enough. Connen keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.

Connen shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Trejo defends it nicely. Trejo gets a double leg takedown into Connen's guard. Trejo won't allow Connen to sweep him here. Trejo told us pre-fight that he has been working on his escapes in training. Let's see if he can call on some of his new skills to get back to his feet.

The ref stands the fighters back up because Shael Connen just wasn't active enough. Trejo throws a leg kick but Connen sees it coming and moves out of range. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Connen takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
Trejo shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Connen is trying to defend but Trejo finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further. Trejo thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close round but Danny Trejo will probably get the nod. That's time! Back to the action!
Connen shoots and misses The fighters are starting to get sweaty, which will make takedowns a bit more tricky. and Trejo counters with a good low kick that Connen was not able to check. Connen goes for a double leg but Trejo avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Trejo continues to drive forward. Connen tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Trejo just stands there and leans against the cage. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Shael Connen. That's going to take a lot out of him. Connen jumps guard but Trejo stands there with Connen around his waist. Connen gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Trejo breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Trejo darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard. Trejo is looking to advance position but Connen won't allow it. Connen tries to roll over but Trejo keeps him under control.
That's one minute gone in the round. Connen wants to control but Trejo is keeping busy and won't allow it.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Trejo gets a double leg takedown into Connen's guard. Connen will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Connen is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Trejo looking to pass the guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
We're going to have a standup here because Shael Connen wasn't active enough for the referee's liking. Connen has a takedown stuffed. Trejo misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Trejo tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Connen looks for a takedown but Trejo sprawls well. Connen throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Trejo. Connen fails miserably with a takedown attempt. Connen is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.
Trejo moves into the clinch successfully.
Connen tries to pull guard but Trejo holds him up against the cage and eventually Connen drops back down to his feet.

Connen is trying to break free. Connen has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Trejo avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Trejo throws an elbow that misses.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Trejo will no doubt start fighting again in a minute but for now he's just having a little rest, leaning Connen up against the cage. Connen is looking to take this one to the mat. Trejo misses with a knee to the head. Trejo pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Connen changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Trejo looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better. Danny Trejo has got the better of the ground game so far. Connen goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Trejo rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Connen's guard! Nice work there by Trejo! Connen wants to hit a switch here but Trejo passes into full mount! Oh no, disaster for Connen there!
That's four minutes gone in the round. Connen tries to hold on but Trejo pushes him away. Trejo trying to control but he's not successful this time. Connen sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Danny Trejo showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!

The ref stands the fighters back up. Danny Trejo was stalling too much, according to the referee. Trejo closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Connen to the mat! Connen manages to get full guard. Connen has Trejo pulled in close to control his posture. The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
Danny Trejo has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet. Trejo will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it! The fight moves into the clinch position. Trejo is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Connen is defending well for now. Connen pulls Trejo into guard.
Connen has Trejo pulled in close to control his posture.
OK we're going to have a standup here. Danny Trejo hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart. Connen fails to land the takedown.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Trejo moves into range and clinches up with Connen. Connen breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Trejo pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Connen moves out of range of the leg kick from Trejo. Trejo fails with an attempt to clinch.
Connen on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Trejo. Trejo obviously looking to wear him down.
Shael Connen is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Connen checks a leg kick. Trejo throws an overhand right that lands on Connen's shoulder, as Connen tries to avoid the shot. Connen with a poor takedown and Trejo counters with a nice leg kick. Trejo misses with a low kick. Connen fails with a takedown attempt. Trejo misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Connen misses with an uppercut. Trejo saw that one coming. Trejo manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Connen on his heels. He'll look to pass Connen's guard now, I'm sure. We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake. Connen is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Trejo trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Connen keeping moving, preventing Trejo from controlling successfully.
The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Danny Trejo wasn't active enough on the ground. Connen looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Trejo is fending him off so far but Connen persists. Nope, Trejo circles away and we're back to standing. Excellent takedown into side control there by Trejo. Connen wants to control but Trejo postures up.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Trejo stands up and beckons Connen to his feet. A punch combination from Trejo misses. Trejo closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth. Connen tries to get back to half guard but can't. Trejo throwing ground and pound but whilst doing so, he forgets to control position and Connen works his way back to half guard. Good composure under pressure. Shael Connen has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Danny Trejo is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Trejo controlling the action here.
And that's the end of the fight! Danny Trejo comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Trejo has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
