Majkan comes into the arena with Silent Gun blaring out of the sound system. Redjo Majkan has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

1 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Federico Toriero! The judges for this bout are Yuuki Gou, Yasuomi Hirokawa and Yukihiro Shimada.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Majkan shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Toriero is trying to defend but Majkan finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further. The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet. Toriero moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard. Toriero has his foot on Majkan's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Majkan works his way back into a safe position though. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Majkan throws a big right hand that misses. Toriero throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. There's a bit of a scramble here and now Toriero is on top in guard.
Majkan definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight. Toriero trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Toriero wants to control from the top but Majkan keeps moving. Both fighters really going for it on the ground here! Majkan is trying to control the position but Toriero postures up. Toriero sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Majkan's guard. Majkan is staying active underneath Toriero, who seems content to just control the action from this position. Toriero is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Majkan sees it coming and defends easily. Majkan looking for submissions off his back. Majkan on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Majkan tries to get out of the position. Majkan is breathing heavily.
That's one minute gone in the round. Toriero trying to control the action but Majkan is working from the bottom. Toriero seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Toriero is trying to control the action in half guard but Majkan is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard. Toriero is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Majkan sees it coming and defends easily. Majkan is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Toriero pulls his head out easily. Toriero is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Toriero scoring with strikes to the body and head. Toriero perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there. Toriero is keen to just control but Majkan is a slippery customer.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Majkan is pressing down on Toriero's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it. Majkan is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Toriero is aware though and is defending well. Majkan keeping moving, preventing Toriero from controlling successfully. This has been an exciting period of action! Toriero trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Toriero stands and throws Majkan's legs to the side, diving into side control. Majkan is positioning himself to get back to half guard. Toriero wants to control but Majkan is keeping him busy. Toriero is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Majkan knows the correct defense though, so he's OK. Majkan is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Toriero wants to lay and pray for a moment but Majkan keeps working. Toriero might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Majkan haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time. Majkan takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.
Majkan is looking for a sweep. Toriero tries for a kimura but Majkan is defending well. Toriero is working Majkan over with some ground and pound from side control. Toriero tries to advance to mount but Majkan denies him. A lull in the action here as Toriero stalls from top position. Toriero landing strikes.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Majkan is not content to let Toriero control the position. Toriero lands a nice forearm strike. Toriero has hold of Majkan's arm. He's looking for a kimura. Majkan seems comfortable defending it but Toriero has shifted his position slighty and is cranking on the arm! Majkan is real pain and he's forced to tap out! Majkan is disgusted with himself for not defending it better but Toriero couldn't care less - he's delighted!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:26 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Federico Toriero! Federico Toriero bigged himself up after the win. The crowd seemed to love it.
